I really don’t understand the rules of footy anymore. That was incomprehensible.

Death Riding Fremantle 2023 - Feathered Cap Edition
Demi Dee replied to adonski's topic in Melbourne Demons
NOVEMBER DREAMING OR NOVEMBER NIGHTMARE? Fremantle knows Luke Jackson will be a 10-year-plus player who will play a big role in the club’s future fortunes. But the Dockers would never have dreamed they might end up giving up so much to claim the 2021 premiership player. And that’s something which is keeping Melbourne fans watching the down-and-almost-out Dockers as much as they are their own team. Freo played finals last year and would have expected to do the same this year. That’s why they were content trading last year’s pick 13 as well as a future first and future second to the Demons. But after a 2-5 start to the 2023 season – and with their confidence looking shot at times against Brisbane – the Dockers look to have no chance of playing finals this year. If things stay the same, and the Dockers remain in a similar ladder position, the Demons might be getting a pick 5 or 6 or 7 this November, as well as a mid 20s pick as well. That’s not Jackson’s fault, and the Dockers are more than happy with him. But you can also understand why Simon Goodwin and Demons fans are watching the Dockers so closely. -
Yep. Rarely blame umps decisions, but I counted at least 3 goals that were based on poor calls against us. That said, we need to be cleaner around the ball and improve the forward connection

In response to Fat Tony, It stunned me watching May kick out to the right a couple of times in the game against Richmond. Then again, with Gawn on one side and Grundy on the other, Hunter and Langdon backing them I reckon they might feel a bit more confident kicking to either side this year. Also noticed on occasion Gawn and Grundy were on opposite wings covering their kick down the line. Caused a lot of confusion and indecision in them moving forward.

Love BBB. Just making note of the forward setup I saw today in the second quarter and it had an exciting feel about it. BBB was there and helped create that feel, but with the rucks dropping in I felt the extra tall forward role could be well served by a more fluid player. No denying the benefits of the big man himself. Just opening the question on the delivery and conversion into our forward half and whether a new approach could provide us with a more effective outcome. Happy to discuss further, just an observation, not a dogmatic statement.

Little things I loved perched on the fence today: The confidence the players have in each other. Clarey working off half back on occasion Lachie Hunter- so wonderful to have two damaging and solid wings Grawndy positioning on either side of the ground for the kick down the line. Had Richmond second guessing on numerous occasions Bowey. Nailed the little things and was creative. fluid , creative mid field rotations (thought ANB and Kozzie really added to this, as did Rivers)- Harmes let himself down with the turnovers second half forward structure had, at times, two talks deep and all smalls on the half forward line. BBB haircut, but think with the rucks floating forward and Fritsch to come in, the forward line might be better running a little smaller. JVR could also provide a different focus, will be interesting to see.

Very kind Demonland. I’m looking after the young man on Monday’s and he is a huge fan. He insisted we go last week to Gosch’s paddock and had to settle for watching the opposition at Olympic Park. Got a couple of cheeky comments about the Pettracca and Oliver t-shirt he was wearing (Maynard suggested his head would look better), but happily posed for a photo with Mason Cox. He didn’t think they looked the goods and was glad to hear the Dees were training the house down. thanks again.

Hi all, could anyone tell me if training is at Casey tomorrow? I’ve got a young fan who would be quite chuffed to be there, even if it’s looking through the fence.

A Grand Final has gone some way to healing the years of pain :) Returning serve to the Cats at Skilled Stadium would have me walking on air.

How are we not at 100 pages yet?! The Dangerfield speculation got over 100 pages and this is the thread where we won a grand final. Come on Demonland, let’s put another log on this fire and celebrate! Personally, I can’t wait until we loose a game in 2022 and I can turn around and say “ must be fatigue from carrying around the premiership trophy. Don’t worry, there using it as training loading for the next one.” I probably won’t say that, but I could and that makes all the difference.

I’m not sure he’s got the height to be a dominant ruckman. 😂😂😂 let’s go Dogga! ❤️🥳💫

It’s been a long time living with this low grade football related anxiety. When I knew the game was done, I didn’t yell, scream or cry, as was my expectation. I felt a sense of relief, a lifting of the tension that had been quietly present over many years. The screaming came as I saw Kossie burst onto the pitch, as Tmac converted, to join the boys already bursting with elation. The tears and laughter came as the celebrations of old and new, history and present burst across the screen. Thank you for sharing your journey, let’s hope it’s not the last time we experience those feelings again.

It was nice to read the positive comments of our win. Especially about Pettracca being the most worthy Norm Smith medalist ever and we are the best team of the season. Poor Tom English coped a fair bit of heat though.

Rejoice we will. Especially if we continue to play like that for seasons to come.
