We were on similar odds heading into the last few rounds last year. We found a way to screw that up so I can’t take any guidance from them.

I love him, but Jetta with 2 terrible and lazy kick turnovers straight to the opposition in that quarter would have normally turned into definite goals against a decent opposition. Time to smarten up and take this game seriously.

Trac was holding his shoulder and looked in a bit of pain during the last game (for a 10 min period) so maybe that’s why he’s named on the bench? Can’t imagine any other reason why as he’s in good form - might choose to rest him.

Have you considered the fact they lost the game last week by a small margin after being in front as well and have had a horrible year, plus all the pressure of the much talked about post premiership drop off? I’m not calling these excuses but they all add up. You want footy players to be Robots? Totally understand we want players to be professionals - but these kids live it Day in and out. Good time to let it all out after a game.

Fantastic idea and proposition – well done MFC! I can understand critics suggesting that it won't get through the necessary red tape due to protests by those that believe any development will 'ruin the park'. But, in my view that 'park' is really just a glorified car park for most of the year – it could do with some work to polish it up a bit and make it more accessible and ensure it is used more than it currently is. For the amount of land Yarra Park consumes it has nowhere near the amount of users compared to other inner city parks such as Botanical Gardens (The Tan), Fitzroy Gardens, Birrarung Marr, etc. Given there are no buildings added to the park itself I think this shows how well thought through this is from our end and increases the likelihood of the development going ahead.

This Saints V Swans game is one of the worst I’ve seen in years. Everyone just going through the motions now that the Swans are up by too much. Atmosphere is terrible for a Saturday night game - I get the feeling the Saints supporters are well aware that they’re in for a few years of pain. And it will be a tough week ahead for their club in the media.

Watched on from the Medallion club (first experience up there - via pretty reasonably priced EBay tickets) with my pregnant wife, good mate and his pregnant wife (hence the premium tickets - padded seats). I attend every week at the ‘G (and can be quite boisterous) but couldn’t believe the whining and moaning about free kicks in the first quarter from Doggies fans. At the end of that quarter they were something like 14–5 up in free kicks. They just wanted every marginal call going their way and still couldn’t wear a single free going to us - even though they were definitely there (thanks Ray). I kept my cool at the time, but now that it’s all over I’d like to say a big ‘F U’ to these people and a big ‘suck a fat one’ to all non Dees supporters all over this great land. We are coming big time and it’s about to get messy. You all better get used to the Dees smashing in and running off with the pill with skill. We are crafting goals like never before. The tide has shifted and this club is primed to put their best foot forward. We’re now built to compete for seasons . If this isn’t our year yet – we’ll be even better next year. Dees are back.

Heading along today and very happy to be there to support Jonesy in his 250th - he deserves a lot of thanks for sticking with the club and helping turn everything around over the last few years.

I was suggesting it would 'ruffle feathers' at the MCC – not the MFC (You can't have someone go in and give it an overhaul (remove people/departments) and then get up and leave yourself). Therefore I think it's an unlikely possibility that she would come back.

I believe her role at the MCC is to give it a thorough overhaul, which requires time. Not about ego.

She moved to the MCC less than a year ago so that would ruffle some feathers if she came back.

I'm just so happy we're now able to have these discussions about how good our players are. The tide has turned and I'm not reading about failed development or wrong picks – they're still out there and clubs are still making mistakes but Melbourne is getting more right than wrong and have been for 3-4 years now. Just saw the extra footage and different angle of the Charlie Curnow incident and I reckon he’s definitely gone. He seems to touch the umpire twice. Ed’s looks about on par with the Hawkins incident so have to be a week for him as well.

We can overuse it like no one else - and our inside 50 structure still doesn’t look convincing (not sure what it is!).
