Melbourne v Essendon @ Etihad Stadium - 20th March, 2015
DubDee replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
Misso said they ideally want 2 1/2 games into most players up for round 1 selection. so I guess the guys who were subbed the last 2 weeks will play full games and the others mgiht be likely to be rested or play a half. I reckon Pedo and Dawes might get a half each -
Vince has 10+ preseasons under his belt. even at 80% he get picked over some of our bottom 6 Howe is a freak of an athlete so I dont expect him to need 5 more weeks of training and 3-4 casey games to be right either fingers crossed

Howe and Vince listed as a test. They should be able to get a Casey game in prior to round one. They did a fair bit of pre-season and they are senior guys so I reckon they could play round 1. Vince, Howe getting closer to return So by round one we have Trenners out and 2 first year players. Great result MFC, well done!***touching wood/crossing fingers***

3 game memberships are BS and shouldn't be counted

Afl are trialling a shot clock count down when someone takes a shot and worst of all the umpires will be broadcast over the PA when explaining free kicks. Good lord! Should we just call it the NFL now? Hearing the umps yell play on incessantly on to is bad enough! -
Was tongue in cheek

looks like we might reach our ambitious target of 30,000 by round 1 !! over 29,000 now.

Mitch Clark's 6 goals - how ... 'depressing'.
DubDee replied to bush demon's topic in Melbourne Demons
I dont doubt he has depression and I feel for him. I also dont doubt he is a pr!ck that screwed us over. from my unfortunately extensive personal experience with depression - and im generalising here - usually stability is recommended, not change when very depressed. Being around people you know and that can support you helps massively. One of the most stress inducing things is changing your job or surroundings when depressed. So unless MFC was physically or mentally abusive place I dont buy the change of scenery BS until I know more this will continue to be my opinion (fair or unfair). Those that think he only played well coz it was Cheney are kidding themselves. He bossed every defender he was on in his few games for the Dees. He'll get 60+ goals this year if he stays on the park -

I would luv it if we beat Geelong Luv it! -
Scenario. Apologies. I've been drinking- Maybe living up to the dub in my name Cloke retires from Collingwood due to depression. Few months later signs with the Hawks. I'm assuming this gets the same reaction as Clark is getting??

Thanks for the training report. You guys are legends. On the 4 years with misson. Surely we are now fit?!? We won't hear any talk of we just couldn't run out games etc. surely?!

So if you know the reason can you fill us in?

What a cvnt. Retired my ar$e. I have the upmost respect for people that carry on with depression but this is beyond his illness. He chose to retire and walk out on us. See any dees players tweeting tonight saying congrats? Put money on him for the Coleman

not named: brayshaw, harmes, howe, hunt, kent, king, o-mac, anb, petracca, spencer, riley, terlich, trengove, vince, white take out injured, you are left with: brayshaw, harmes, hunt, kent, king, o-mac, spencer, riley, terlich, white do we take from this that the above guys will be very unlikely to play round 1? some young guys there understandably but if I was Riley, Terlich and Spencer I would be worried. Kent must be being managed strange approach Roosey is taking, usually NAB is seen as getting 2 games into all fit players but he is treating it like firming his 22. fair enough i say! just different to his usual style.

Open training miscommunication - another MFC unforced error
DubDee replied to DeeSpencer's topic in Melbourne Demons
Im hearing people say "not everyone has twitter" as if most people do and its only the oldies that don't? im in my mid thirties and I dont have a twitter account (as I dont care to know what xx celebrity had for breakfast). nearly all my mates are the same so using this as the main way to communicate anything to members is ridiculous -

That's a fair point but was garland was excellent in 2013 and was on par with jonsey imo. Big difference between 2nd and 3rd that year -

Some thoughts Really surprised at how poor Gawn was. I thought he could kick a little, it's like he's been learning off spencer. One game in so hopefully a once off I think Dawes and hogan will be a great twin towers combo Newton will be a good player I liked T macs games. Got involved Really happy with how we cam back in the third. Freo were putting in and had a strong team out Now to get a win against the saints. Bring watts Viney etc in -

Do people forget that garland was an inch away from winning the bluey the year before last? I am confident he will get his mojo back
