  1. yeah we get 'em too, Hunt, Wagner etc. I just reckon, on his merits he had a good year and should be rewarded for working his ar$e off and playing pretty well
  2. Whats your Sauce err Big Sauce?
  3. I reckon Matt Jones deserves a 1-yr deal. if it wasnt for injury he would have played most games. he is reliable in what he provides and is a good runner. if we want to be in finals we need guys like him as depth/on the fringes rather than always being the youngest team
  4. her use of party hat emojis adds credibility im desperate for him to sign so I fully believe what this person says. woo hoo, 5 more years of Hoges! Marry him off to a Melb lass! at least 2 years without contract speculation!!
  5. my tips from earlier.... Gawn - 16 Viney - 15 Tyson - 11 Watts - 8 Hogan - 7 Jones - 6 exchange tyson and jones and I was pretty close. although that means that I agree with the umps so probably should not brag interesting to see Viney was not at the event. Word is he will attend next year to collect his medal
  6. Salem, Brayshaw, JT, Melksham, Hibberd, JKH, Weiderman, ANB, Hullet, are all players that barely played this year that should make a difference next year (some more than others obviously) Add the improvement of Oliver and Petracca in particular and I'm bullish about our prospects of finals next year. this is not including others we might trade in. Its not like we lost the 1st round pick, we cleverly traded it to get Oliver and Weeds in a stroke of genius
  7. Who do people reckon might poll well for the Dees? is often very different to the BnF results. my guess Gawn - 16 - i'd expect at least 4 BOGs Viney - 15 - will get a lot of 1 and 2s Tyson - 11 Watts - 8 Hogan - 7 Jones - 6
  8. Maybe Jobe can present his medal to the winner?
  9. That is what footy is all about, playing for your mates until you're rooted. So great to see all the former greats of the dogs so pumped. 2 years time.... Hopefully it'll be us. I honestly don't know how I will be able to watch us when we get to a prelim/gf
  10. I hear he is a very good - just follows his nose! thanks all. have a great evening
  11. we don't know where he is going yet. and freo have been top 4 for the last few years Rivers, Chip, Howe all chose to leave the Dees in search of success. you could argue we were not too bothered by Howe but he would be in our backline not to mention that bottom feeder Scully. as soon as we have a potential star on our list, the talk starts of where will he go. its BS
  12. Agree. the way the comp is going we are becoming a feeder club to the big guns.
  13. ive got a love/hate thing with Robbo. he represents the everyday footy loving bloke i reckon. can be hard to listen to but he does love the game and is honest and even mildly amusing at time 4 shows a week is way too much but I watch once or twice a week usually unless the Mrs is hogging the IQ with masterchef, block and all that rubbish
  14. this bloke had his career ruined by that joke of a club - his best prime 4 years of his career. cannot believe he would go back. doubt he will get back to anywhere near his best. bottom 4 for the dons next year, then stanton, jobe etc will retire and their lack of draft picks and young kids will tell and they will be bottom for 5 years (sorry I drifted off into a lovely day dream then)
  15. Hogan is what I have wanted for decades. He has arrogance, presence, amazing marking and great work rate. He will tear the Comp apart in a few years. I would take Fyfe. But anything else we lose and lose big.
  16. Great analysis. Although the game changes so quickly so who is to say a gun CHF won't be key in 5 years? also, would a top team like Hawks or cats even be considering he would go home? I am shitty not that he would go home but that we are not a good enough club to keep him. Do Hawks players not get homesick? how do we become a better club when our potentially best player leaves? #ivebeendrinking
  17. I'll do my best. Been away for a week so getting a visa from the mrs might be tough
  18. Love it. if someone is in doubt of coming to the club, have a beer with Bernie and the choice is easy
  19. anyone know how many people usually turn up to the VFL final? thinking of maybe going but etihad atmosphere is terrible at the best of time but esp when only 5,000 there be better off playing it at Optus oval of something
  20. no idea where this response came from - i wasnt complaining about player movement just stating facts about good players being able to go where they want and regarding GWS being flag favourites - I was making the point that FA screws lower clubs, marchbank is not a FA maybe read my post properly before replying
  21. free agency is pointless aside from screwing lower clubs out of a decent trade. any good player can move where they want, when they want and why the f-ck would he want to go to carlton?
  22. Almost two thousand posts and he still isn't in his last year of his contract this thread is well named!
  23. I agree. But surely they can't keep all midfield stars. We'll be ripe to snag one or two over the next few years
  24. Funny when you announce a rebuild and sack you stars that the players might not be that focused on finals
