Brisbane will 100% get a priority pick. i dont agree with it but it will happen.
just keep tabs on him and we can steal him in 2 years.
-
surely GC would have offered him $750G/5 yrs. they would have been desperate for their VC to stay when everyone else is leaving...
baffling why he would chose Tiges. apparently they have courted him for years
maybe he agreed to join them last year, without their actual signature and didnt want to back out
-
Good get by the Tiges. No matter what stage of rebuild a 23 yo mid gun is always needed.
if he passes the medical I would have loved him at the dees. Not much talent out there to trade in.

We need him to make a decision this year before the trade period, while Fremantle has pick 3 - they wont have that next year. It shouldn't be that hard.
i dont see Freo improving. very old list, expecting a massive cull with not much youth coming through
could be pick 2 next year!

Every now and then a piece of news comes out that is bad for GWS and the Pies and I like to just sit back and smile

well we played a lot better against good teams this year than poor teams so I'm hoping for a terrible draw full of top 8 teams.

I hope the AFL addresses it next season. Surely there is a simple solution. Maybe include five additional nominees after the home and away season has concluded to reward the most consistent performers not already nominated. That or use the last five weeks of the season to reward the most consistent.
A system where a player can be nominated with one very good game while others with ten or more good games can miss out is so obviously flawed.
you are forgetting afl is all about money. NAB want their name flashed around each week
I would just have an award for the best first year player and an award for the next under 21 player. give them out a the brownlow of something

34 next year, can only play inside mid so it'd be a no from me. I'd prefer seeing brayshaw, Oliver, tracca etc get more time on the ball.
Great player though and would happily have him as coach

Regarding 2016 overall, it was the most enjoyable year since 2006 - easily.
i went to the footy each week and thought we could actually win. The win against the Hawks was just incredible.
We scored freely, playing exciting footy, unearthed some gems. Only problem is we keep getting younger!
cant wait to see the impact Brayshaw, Petracca and Oliver can make to our team next year (in particular). they will transform our midfield. Get stuck into preseason boys!

Regarding the lack of leadership issue, it is obvious we lack senior leaders. The only way to address it is to build leadership from within, we have a great crop of under 23's and we need to empower and develop them. Starting with Viney and T Mac and then onto Brayshaw, Oliver, Hogan in the years to come. Like Hawks did with their young crop.
Recruiting leaders doesnt work that well IMO (although Crossy was awesome), we need to step up.

To me he looks mentally drained rather than physically. When did Vince get run down from behind last year? happened a lot this year. his concentration and focus have been poor
He clearly has had issues with consistency at the crows (good year/poor year) so I think he should get an extended break from the club. does he need a 5 month preseason?
a few extra weeks to freshen up and get the anger back and hunger score goals and get us to finals
-
Sack Goody! He hasn't done anything since he took over

Viney
Gawn
Jones
T Mac
Tyson
next in line, Jetta, Watts
although Viney slowed up at the end of the year, he still easily leads contested possessions and tackles and just leads the clearances. He led beautifully all year and pips Gawny just IMO

Delighted for Beaker. Fair to say he deserves a win after 2 wins in 7 years!!
how he has kept fronting up for training is beyond me. I reckon he'll get a game in finals, the other young ruck will get dropped for mcevoy

What Melbourne need is a match winner, someone that can turn a game, is Mitchell that player, I don't think so.
We already have Petracca, hogan and Viney.

I don't think you can have too many quality midfielders. Sydney haven't struggled with their 'one paced midfield with poor kicking skills' and they are again, rightly, flag favourites
especially in a few years without vince and jones

Put a fork in him - he is done.
Port would keep him if he was right

Struggling to GAF about this game. I think the excitement of not longer being a 6% chance of finals has us flat
I think we will put in a decent show but the players will be flat as well and Cats are playing for top 4 with a week off.
Would be great if Hullet made his debut, that would get me fired up.
also good to get another game together for Oliver, Angus, Tracca, Hunt, Stretch, Hogan and Weeds
alright, I guess I care about the game a little bit then

The Tigers took Miller, surely they will take Dawesy?

First thing to with all of our older players not getting a game is to see what they want to do. I suspect they dont enjoy not playing, so some will want to be shopped around. this could take the delisting issue out of it. If I was Grimes Garland or Dunn, I'd request a trade. The first two would get picked up. then wish them well and thank them for their service.
JT will 100% get one more year. he had almost 3 years out of footy (played 2 games one year). he has come back and performed well at VFL level. I think he can do a preseason and be in our best 25 next year. he is smart, a good mark and good kicking skills. not too many of the list we can say that about. and I just love the bloke

Anyone see the Titus O'Reilly post: (something like)
"North - the first club to announce a rebuild heading into Finals"
sums it up for me. what morons. either tell the players with 10 rounds to go and let them announce when they want or make the hard calls after the finals.
either way, treating their champ Harvey like this is ridiculous and will hurt the club for years (like the Junior decision did for us)

The most dangerous goal kicker of our midfield. We need goals from the midfield, unfortunately Jones is not one and Vince not any more
He is great around goals. Good thing about the new wave of midfield types coming through us that patracca, vanders, brayshaw like a goal. I reckon with hunt and Salem on wings there will be more goals
tyson is underrated in general I reckon. Still learning, improving his awareness and getting his body right. In 2-3 years will be a star. Our Luke hodge
