Well done Peter Jackson.
We finally gave him something to work with by having a decent year on field and he comes up with the goods.
Best draw in many years

Yeah I know, delisted by the Blues - read before you dismiss straight away
what do we think about picking him up as a rookie or late pick? we are pretty light on for ready to play tall forwards and tall key backs. if Hogan and Watts went down for example, it would be good to have a big body coming in for a couple of weeks. He could also provide some cover at the back as we are a bit light on there to
I thought he actually played alright last year and was surprised he was canned.
6 foot 4, age 27. hard to assess his stats as he has played many positions.
anyway - fire away. Im logging off now

All of the prime-time games we've featured in over the past two years - Friday nights and public holidays - have been entertaining affairs, with only the one MFC loss. We've proven we're not a liability in this regard. We're a young team on the rise with lots of energy, and there's a good deal of media and public buzz about us. The AFL would absolutely love for us to a successful, consistently competitive club and dramatically boost our membership as the Hawks have managed over recent times. The MFC back in the finals and then pushing all the way would be a huge relief at HQ, and they've been working favourably with PJ since his arrival. Don't be surprised if we get a fantastic draw, both financially, and as a path to the finals. All signs so far are positive. Although I'm sure we'll all find something to complain about regardless.
not sure this is very easy to do. if we play the bog teams that draw big crowds the draw will be tougher (as opposed to lions, freo at home for example)
usually its one or the other or neither!

unless the Saints get a dream draw again and have almost no injuries all year again - they will slide. 8-10 wins.
god I will love it when we beat them next year. LOVE IT!

I dont rate WC and am pretty sure they'll drop out of the 8. No Nic Nat
they had some poor games this year

I don't get the love for the Saints. Can someone explain it to me.
Im with you. Nick cant have another career year like this year and a couple of others are getting on. their youth is average to good.
but they keep surprising me and belting us so I probably should shut up

The Hawks seem to have as much interest in their draft picks as I have for the salad that comes with my chicken parma.

Love this as it gives my more reasons to hate GWS and Collingwood, not that I was running low!
Whitfield out for a year or two would hurt. he is about to hit his peak

Who knows, maybe SOS will get more out of them the second time around.
Kristian Jaksch, Mark Wiley, Jed Lamb, Lachie Plowman, Liam Sumner, Andrew Phillips, Jarod Pickett, Caleb Marchbank, Rhys Palmer.
I'm gonna suggest that SOS may be chasing his losses a bit, still trying to prove he got it right the first time.
Carlton are basically the GWS seconds
bunch of rejects and they keep giving gws high picks!

Is our backline strong enough in 2017?
We have very little tall depth down back, it is essentially just Garland not that Dunn has gone.
yeah we are a bit light. I wonder with Hibberd coming in (6'1) will we only play 2 talls against some teams?
I wouldnt be surprised if we picked up a mature key defender from the VFL as a rookie

Gibbs rocking up for day 1 of preseason would be good to watch!

As I posted in the other thread, we effectively got Hibberd and Lewis for 29 which is a stellar result.
Went in with 29, 48, 66, 84.
Came out with 47, 69, 84.
Dunn vs McKenna steak knives
especially when you think of 4 years ago when we gave up pick 20 for Dawes and the next year pick 12 for Clarke
dark, dark days

Ive heard his name pronounced 'Hibbaard', I would have assumed the phonetic Hibberd would be correct?

I'd be utterly livid if I were a Richmond fan right now.
Prestia is a good pick up IMO. averages 17 games over his first 6 seasons so hardly injury riddled.
just turned 24. I would have liked us to get him
-
pick 29 and a pick upgrade is a good result IMO.
-
Pedo is certainly ahead of the Weed at the moment and will be in round 1 IMO. let Sammy earn his spot

What a great PR exercise for us and a terrible one for the Hawks! if they had worked with Lewis to find a trade they would have gotten a pick in the 30's at least
Unbelievable deal!
Less than 6 months until round one! Hurrraahhh! **cough

Schadenfreude moment. No comp pick for the Pies, after Brown runs to the Saints.
Frost, brown and Marsh all traded out.
I guess the ever durable Ben Reid is going to play all key positions at the back then?
The pies are rooted and it is all their own doing. whwhahahaha!

Three days to go in a very crazy trade period, will be very interesting to see what plays out from here.
if it's indeed not a Rockliff trade, i wonder what's holding up the Hibberd deal
I reckon we are just waiting to lock in the Lewis trade so we know for sure what picks we have.
having said that Id expect next year's round 2 pick to go to the drug cheats for Hibberd
