  1. Bizarre round. The positive thing for the demons is that our defence is very good. Hopefully that will stop teams getting a run on us and we can grind teams down with behinds ?
  2. Fair enough. But clearly they havenโ€™t bottomed out. key players like Bont, Libby, Wood, Wallis, JJ, Macrae all still there
  3. The Dogs bottomed out after their flag 5 years ago? Please. They have pretty much the same team. Struggled for a couple of years but are still on the same path
  4. Any other year I reckon Melksham and Hibberd come straight in. No working off past performances anymore. I like this from Goodwin and the match committee. Make them earn their spot.
  5. GAME DAY!! finals are here after the disappointment of last year. Daisy is a big loss but we can get this done. cmon Demons!!
  6. Not kidding - if the Pies had Treloar on the ball tonight I reckon they win. they really lack a fast mid The boy Bailey has balls of steel! what a finish. and to think he SHOULD have had two winning kicks after the siren in back to back round. never been done I am sure Hard not to like the bears. hard at it. McClullage is a gun. if he could kick for goal he would be a star
  7. Pies being favourites coz they beat a poor Carlton side bears should get it done
  8. Half a dozen good players, a few quality kids and thatโ€™s it. Looking at their 22, GWS should be bottom 6 this year. The guts have been ripped outta them. Dees by 4 pts
  9. Aside from one, I think all of Fritschโ€™s shots on the weekend were gettable angels. He just choked on the kicks. Itโ€™s 100% in his head. One came off the side of his boot
  10. Been following since 1988 Lyon Schwartz Neitz Farmer Yze
  11. He will have built us physically into a premiership winning team by then so no dramas
  12. Fristch T.Mac Kozzi Spargo. B.Brown ANB if T Mac struggles, Weed comes in.
  13. You beauty! Brown and T Mac plus Fristch and smalls will be a hell of a fwd line
  14. We are still missing Folau
  15. โ€œI reckon we win by 3 triesโ€
  16. The bump is allowed, however you do need to accept all consequences associated with the bump
  17. one things for sure, we won't be dropped T Mac if he keeps up this form. I expect him to get better over the nextr couple of weeks as his confidence grows too
  18. yes, I see your point. I still think the trend is there. Hawks got one early in 08 and then dominated when their players were in their prime '12-'14. Bombers were an anomaly and Brisbane were not young if I recall correctly. they fell off a cliff after 2004. Very difficult to win one without having a bolus of the team in the right age and experience bracket. even tougher if the talent is not there
  19. therefore these stats should indicate a team has a sizeable group of good players that have a better chance of winning the flag, proving the OP's point, no?
  20. Good Post. I have kept on eye on these stats for us over the past 15 years and we are usually the youngest/most inexperienced group. No doubt you need to get to the other group if you want to win a flag. I have always said our best shot of a flag is when Viney, Trac, Oliver, Salem etc are 25yo+ and 100 games+. this is our generation. going off these stats if we won one this year it would be early, the next 5 years should be interesting. and if you think - we've said this before - we haven't. we have never had this sort of talent coming together like this in the past 15 years
  21. It is clearly a mental issue with goal kicking. when kicking to a team-mate he rarely mis-kicks them. kicking for goal on Sat night and they are missing as soon as they are off the boot. sliced one terribly. keep going with the sports psych Bails, you'll get there he is so clever making space, reading the flight and marking for a light body.
  22. Melksham put his hand put for selection apparently. 2 goals and a good performance around the ball Jones and Sparrow will be nervous. As much as I am disappointing with Melk over last year's efforts, he does add a new dimension to our game with strong marking/kicking and link up play fwd of centre interesting decision for the committee
  23. Whilst there is no real exposed ressie form to consider and no-one really struggling in the 1s, you would have to say no change. Our defence should have a field day against the Giants attack and propel many attacks. Only thing to consider is the sub. Shouldnt use Baker again. We need to give Melk and Hibbo more game time so maybe VDB or Petty
  24. fair enough, I guess we all see if differently. As evidenced by one coach giving him 3 votes and the other none!
