far out, still 9 best 22 players out. realistically only Viney and Pruess back before the bye. Smith, Jetta and Vanders probably done for the year. no wonder May is hitting the schnapps
-
insanity, we are virtually zero chance of playing finals. We will win on Sat and everyone will get excited and then we be gutted 3 weeks after that. mostly likely we will be 3-9 at the bye I reckon we will turn things around and get to around 10 wins and that will be a good achievement but there is no coming back from 1-5 with 10 players out injured and 4-5 in the 22 carrying injuries.
-
Bloody amazing achievement by the club to get to 50K members. 5 years ago and I would not have believed it to be possible. It gives real hope we can knock over 55 and 60K if we get some consistent finals/success

Jordan Lewis is absolutely cooked, never pick him again
DubDee replied to DeeSpencer's topic in Melbourne Demons
I’ve been a Lewis supporter but if he continues to cause turnovers and miss targets we cannot afford to have him in the team even with his leadership -
Small world mate!

‘Drinking related incident’ what was the incident? Horrible reporting. Footy player has a few beers on a Sunday. Move on. Nothing to see here
-
Would certainly help if there was some security. To clarify: security that anticipate and stop incidents rather than just watch
-
I have no issue with dry or family areas if that is what you are referring to. I also agree they should be extended but I just think i should be able to drink with my mates at the footy if i want to
-
I don't need to drink at the footy. I don't need to go to the footy at all. They are two things I enjoy doing so why not together?

When lever comes back in a couple of weeks it will be interesting to see what happens to Hore. they play similar roles. Lever, Frost, Hore and Hibbo in the same back 6? could work
-
I am surprised by the amount of anti-drinking comments on this thread. 99% of people that drink at the footy do so and don't get into fights. the problem is D-heads (in this case two of them) attending the footy, not people drinking at the footy. As you said, fights at the footy has decreased massively over the years. putting restrictive rules for when you buy booze will not help and would just aggravate people further. You just need to look at england to see the lock out laws don't work.

Well done Weeds. Took the hit and went back and worked hard. I like the 20+ touches and 8 marks more than the goals. showed he worked hard. it will be interesting to see who will be up fwd out of Keilty, Preuss and Weed. T Mac took a couple of marks in the 3rd Q thank god so he should be safe

ah yes know those spots. I grew up in Artane. Dad's family is still in summerhill and i take my life in my hands when i visit them! i went back to work in Dublin in my 20's. was tough to leave. still miss the pubs/social scene and the humour but Melbourne is my fav city in the world.

Kielty has trained and played fwd all year and even preseason (I think) so not sure how easy it would be to switch to defence even though he is experienced
-
Yeah im a Dub. Moved here as a kid in 88. Sean and Jim were why I started following the Dees. No doubt in my mind if you mouth off and tipped someone’s beers over back in the day you get a gut punch or worse. Agree on the lack of respect point
-
You reckon back in the 70s and 80s it would have been better? There is less violence these days. It’s just that you see every example posted on the internet these days

Anyone else see the scuffle post siren near M9 sore bloody losers!
-
What has happened to T Mac?? he is playing like Herman Munster!! has to have multiple injuries
-
Drag Jeff. Unforgivable. Drop him next week

Lynden Dunn: "I wish I came to the pies 10 years ago"
DubDee replied to dazzledavey36's topic in Melbourne Demons
Pity it took you 8 years to mature out of being a jumper punching inconsistent player who was dropped many times even when we were deplorable. -
The season is done but we really need a win to gain respect and to get the club back on track. I hope Gawn spews on Scully at some point and I hope we see Keilty in the circle covered in gaterade post game! go Dees

Pretty common for kids to get injuries adjusting to afl. Danger, Cotchin etc all had slow starts

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - DECLAN KEILTY
DubDee replied to Steve13's topic in Melbourne Demons
There is something special about a debut. Some players just fit in at the top level and there is a chance Dec has a great game and will have a career. Bloody exciting. And Drunkn being open lets us in so we feel like we know him already! Go Dec, smash it!! -
Keilty still listed as Emg on MFC website and twitter but nothing surprising there, hardly great on the breaking news anyone have a source? would be pumped for Dec to have a chance
