Can only assume we have a spare spot on the list and Casey need a forward
-
So if green is rated as good as the top two why don’t GC consider him?
-
He might come good in a few years but he shouldn’t be playing if Max is fit
-
Our sponsors have more faith in the MFC that some supporters do it seems

We haven’t had a fitness bloke with this sort of hype since Misson.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - HARLEY BENNELL
DubDee replied to Tinks's topic in Melbourne Demons
I really could have done without watching that video. I feel dumber. Which is concerning if you know me -
Can’t believe the afl hasn’t matured from the go home factor. Professional footballers wanting to go home. Getting paid half a mill a year and you miss your mates and mum? Grow up!
-
Can’t wait to see what Sparrow can do next year. He looks fit. Jordon looks like Oliver when he arrived at the mfc. Needs another press on maybe. Pruess been in the afl system for a while so hopefully he can build his endurance. Go Dees. Love this time of year!!

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - HARLEY BENNELL

Thanks for the info! it is great to follow a proper footBall club, off field at least, that make sound reasoned decisions. Not making any desperate knee jerk moves. He will be made to prove himself off field and body wise and that is how it should be -

Offer him a rookie spot maybe. see how passionate he really is. work in some targets to meet with a promise of a senior contract the following if met -
what is the fascination of 5 year deals? not like he is on a mill/yr. just locks in a good loyal young player. if we gave him a three year deal followed by a 2 year deal, is that better Chad? what a moron

with crows falling that could be the bottom four right there. dream fixture

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - HARLEY BENNELL
DubDee replied to Tinks's topic in Melbourne Demons
You might be convinced but I am not. I agree it seems genuine that he wants a contract for his family so he can get massages and train and live a comfortable life. is he driven to play and succeed? not getting on the park for almost 5 years tells the real story Freo took a risk on him years ago with his off field issues. it was a miserable failure. I understand there is not much risk for us but I do not get the excitment around this potential acquistion. let him train with Viney for a month over preaseason and maybe ill be convinced -
WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - HARLEY BENNELL

I don't obviously. should have added imo at the end there. it will be 5 years since he played consistent footy. barring the most ridiculous run of luck with injuries I find it unlikely that injuries are his only problem. I am implying/wondering if he has done everything to recover/rehab over the last 5 years. showing 'passion' now seems to be me like he wants a contract as the gravy train is about to run out. I hope I am wrong but I would be astounded if he put 5 decent games together -

Having played little footy in the past 4 years the chances of him staying on the park in the future are almost nil. even if we pay him very little it is not worth it imo. pick a kid in the draft and see how he goes. he is saying all the right things to get a contract but he lacks the passion to play footy. -
Zero Friday games aside from Anzac. Tigers, Pies, Dogs, St Kilda even will do better
-
So before the fixture is out and many of us complain - what would people like in general between a favourable commercial draw or an easy draw where we in theory should win more games? A soft draw isnt as much of an advantage as it used to be. aside from the top few sides and GC, there is little difference between and 7 and 13th for example

Is it 3:20 local time? Usually don’t have two 3:20 games
-
Always good to play last years top 4 in the early rounds. Takes them a few weeks to get going. Bring it on! and the dogs v pies at dock lands constitutes a blockbuster now? According to the herald.
-
We absolutely need some developing young talls. It takes years to develop a ruck or tall KPF. Gawn will be done in 4 years. Bradke could make it who knows. Preuess is ok cover for Gawn. the key is to draft kids with Some football talent even if raw or not fit.

Farewell to Jay Kennedy-Harris & Billy Stretch
DubDee replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
If Billy doesn’t get picked up I reckon we should offer him a role in training/ development. Young players rave about how much he helped them. -
So you’re saying pick 6 is due to be a superstar?!?
-
The above clubs plus Carlton all let luke ball go to the pies. teams don’t take players that say they want to play for them. Nothing to do with not being a tough club
-
Big question marks over martins commitment and consistency. He hasn’t be able to play at a consistent high level at GC when it should be easy to stand out. plenty of talent but I doubt he’ll become a dedicated professional overnight. No wonder he wants to go to Carlton
