  1. I think it was more a case of unfortunate timing: I'm sure when it was posted Nar Nar Goon wasn't under threat. Yep, it's a beautiful area. A friend of mine who hails from McLaren Vale lives here now and he took his family for a holiday to the North east. He said what amazed him was being able to swim in rivers where you could see the bottom. He said you don't get that in South Australia...
  2. I hope his family and property are safe. The irony that this segment - Quick Fire Preussy - was aired just as the bushfires began to ravage the Bunyip area. I hope everybody stays safe.
  3. Advice from here on in: relax and enjoy, these are the good times. It's all downhill from here......
  4. I like the sound of that: Ballarat was a much longer drive in them dark days as well.
  5. You also forget Gary Baker, Stephen Icke, Peter Vardy and Peter Rohde. How you could contemplate Rodan, Carman, Catoggio and Turley is beyond my comprehension. They played but a handful of games for Melbourne, none of them any good.
  6. Alan Rowarth used to light up after every quarter...
  7. Most probably we didn't 'let them go', most went - bar Dunn and Armstrong - of their own volition, Frawley, for example. Morton and Gysberts and Blease were, in my opinion welcome departures...
  8. I know the guy you mean: Richard Gill. Great musician.
  9. Pwobabwy not many agree wid your version of history either. Nuff said.
  10. Otto was one of the greats, along with Furtwangler and a Yakka Dude called Kurt Sanderling, another Jewish German who went to Russia instead of Hollywood and came back to Berlin in 1960. If you like so-called 'classical music' check these three out.
  11. When it's all distilled, I don't quite get what all the discussion about the lad Preuss is about. It's bleeding obvious Goodwin and co understood that Gawn cannot be expected to run the whole race on his own - like he was last year - without an inevitable collapse in output.Hence Preuss. It will turn out to be one of the wisest and smartest recruitment coups in our history. Agreed, Spencer was a handy backup, but - without any condescension to Spencer - Preuss is simply a more agile and better coordinated athlete. Even better, he's a German...I put it to you, the sooner our list gets filled by the Obsts, the Neitz's, the Schwartz's, the Muellers, the Manns, the Nietzsche's, Ditterich's - I could go on - of this world, the sooner we'll vin anozer flag.
  12. Klink was the son of one of the great Conductors, Otto Klemperer. As we say in Germany, Vat a conductor!!!!!
  13. ( Apart from the dreadful shot at goal with his right foot yesterday. )
  14. I like the lad as well and also noted how he 'put in'. More than anything, I was glad to see him back playing.
  15. I watch in hope, like all of us.Anyway, I like the boy, I always have and it was great to see him back in action. By the way, a few other posters were also annoyed by his disposal.
  16. I haven't been able to watch all of it but I think we have a new Dom Tyson- Stretch. I've seen 3 passes direct to a Collingwood player. PLease!
  17. What was the free kick for? I'll take it, but.....
