GAMEDAY: Rd 23 vs Hawthorn
New coach needs to seriously ask which players in particular big names who want to play for the Demons and be part of the solution & new era, or there is the door as enough is enough!

GAMEDAY: Rd 23 vs Hawthorn
Leadership letting us down as usual after Chaplin praised their efforts last week, I guess hate to say it as I hate Cornes but his criticism is spot on

POSTGAME: Rd 22 vs Western Bulldogs
We played 1 qtr of great and the rest we were chasing, in all those close losses apart from the saints we also played 1 qtr of good footy No question on desire but this should be a non negotiable. Not sure what it is why we give up leads, is it leadership from our seniors to steady the ship? New coach will certainly have talented players to work with so not a rebuild and need to be will supported by a revamped footy dept & Chaplin needs to be given a senior role to drive the program with the new coach.

Knowing how to win
Saints technicality .. we blew a 46 point lead!

Who Will Be Our Next Coach?
Though a loss we are all to familiar with, I’d say any coach would be excited on the mixture of senior and young talent, posts on moving Viney , Trac Salem are our leaders and heart /soul Viney … Trac in transition to pay fwd & are playing the young mids for their development.

POSTGAME: Rd 22 vs Western Bulldogs

GAMEDAY: Rd 22 vs Western Bulldogs
Those very same players are the ones who kept butchering the ball going forward with long bombs, kept on playing the same way etc etc and gave up a 46 point lead

Who Will Be Our Next Coach?
Buckley appears the only experienced coach available showing interest, club needs to reset the footy dept with the right assistants and structures and for gods sake the stability needs to be within our board, does our list need an experienced coach as we are not in rebuild but reset

Who Will Be Our Next Coach?
Would you need to give them a 5 year contract with exit causes?

How you doing?
Feel saddened whilst I did say he’s Goody time was up , it’s a scene we as members. And supporters have lived through for many a decade, Goodwin is the fall guy but the instability off field issues played a role and that’s what’s frustrating as why our club just can’t get its [censored] together! They will need to sell a stability of vision and a home base training centre to any candidates! For Goody thanks you will ever be a Demon Premiership coach and the joy you brought us in 21!

Simon Goodwin Sacked
I’m not in denial our club has many issues, I don’t take joy in Coaches being sacked, and disappointed for Goody but also frustrated with our club who just can’t get stability which would have impacted our premiership clock in 22/23, it’s rinse and repeat of presidents & CEOs, P Jackson laid the foundations yet they found a war to demolish them
-
Simon Goodwin Sacked
Correct my point is the fact Smith will be the 4th president since 2021 & 3rd CEO. That’s the instability
-
Simon Goodwin Sacked
I don’t disagree based on his win loss ratio we have been going backwards, but highlighting how poor our club is getting the stability right and how all the issues ultimately impacted on him, what’s the accountability on Richardson running of the footy dept?
-
Simon Goodwin Sacked
Empty feeling & It’s rinse and repeat for our club, have witnessed this every decade since the 70s, we are so unstable with drama every decade & how we won a flag is amazing! They all found a way to sabotage the club for continued success, the environment Goodwin had to coach in after P Jackson laid the stability foundations with Roos is very sad and will haunt the missed opportunities to win another flag during the 22-23 period! Goodwin had issues no question but the constant off field dramas didn’t help with the instability of interim President & CEO, a hard sell will be needed to convince a Longmire, Simpson, Hinkley to want to coach with the only positive that the list is in decent shape. When will this club ever be stable???
-
Simon Goodwin Sacked
So Melb like the way it was handled… with interim President & CEO who should have been present! Were the new replacements involved in the decision?? We appear so unstable and issues run deeper than just Goodwin though his results were poor and time was up, who’s been responsible for the culture & player behaviour and the handling along with the Trac issues, the footy set should not be spared! Sad day and whilst may be warranted as hear g goody say ignore the score board & don’t get hung up on the results is about clubs on a full rebuild not one that he thinks can win another flag! Thanks for the flag Goody! To new President & CEO you have a big job ahead to get the right coach & fix the footy dept issues, keep any talent from requesting a trade, culture issues & that damn home base for once and for all
-
Simon Goodwin Sacked
Goes deeper than just Goodwin , footy dept, list mgt , culture issues & let’s not kid ourselves they are real as why Trac was [censored] off! How it’s been handled needs to be questioned and club needs to justify this but reality is his time was up
-
Simon Goodwin Sacked
Correct decision but club needs to justify the process & timing along with being respectful to our only living premiership coach! Hearing Goodwin say ignoring the score board & not getting hung up on the results was not great.. he’s record 8/18, culture issues.
-
Simon Goodwin Sacked
As usual a messy & poorly handled with interim president & Ceo, only 3 days ago we had Green sending a letter what appeared the support of Goodwin and a week later he’s sacked, agree his time was up but such a crappy look with not the new president or ceo in place, club will need justify the process, I just hope it’s done respectfully and respect that he did win a flag

Christian Petracca and Clayton Oliver in 2026
It’s sad that we view our only living Norm Smith & posters as ready to ditch him! Trac brings all the things you want the young players to look up as a role model, professionalism in every facet of being an afl footballer, sure he’s not at he’s absolute best & the game has changed plus he’s injury will take time to heal mentally, I’d rather him than Oliver and no disrespect to Oliver but Trac never went off the rails, he stays make him Captain give him the the responsibility
-
Christian Petracca and Clayton Oliver in 2026
No doubt decisions need to be made on list mgt and to trade in experienced talent not to mention the footy dept & coaches, all the talk has been from President to Coach that Oliver & Trac will remain and no talk of trading them … to flip on this would leave egg on the face of Goodwin but hey he did say how much they valued Grundy! Why are these managers getting these players to sign long term deals then expect the club to work out a trade and still get paid the same, if a player wants out they should negotiate a new contract and not burden the club!
