Kick ins , cant take a chest mark , handballing our way into trouble . A lack of dynamic young talent .

GWS cut us to shreds last game with super fast ball movement by hand , didnt fumble and kicked well . We need to get our hands on it and do the same , Gold CS were a great example last night of how to get outside with lightning handball to set up attacking moves from stoppages .

Roosy recognised me from my efl days when I played against his brother and said gday. I mentioned I had my gear in the car and he asked if i wanted to put a few of the guys through their paces, like the old days. Wattsy and I ventured away from the main group with Roosy kicking the ball long to centre half foward from the goal square where Jack and I starting on the goal line had to retreive the ball and slot it through the big sticks. I hit Jack hard hip to hip putting him off balance and then kicked him in the ankle taking him down .Roosy told him to get on with it and Jack gave me a jumper punch to the throat and Roosy cracked a half smile. . We repeated the drill, this time I grabbed Jack front on by the jumper pulled him around and threw him down with a short right Jab to the jaw . Jack replied with Barry Hall esque choke hold befiiting his 91kg frame that almost had me seeing black. With Jack fuming and his face a demon shade of red we repeated the drill. We both sprinted with Jack running ahead and taking the bouncing slippery ball beautifully with his left hand low to the ground turning back towards myself and launching into this sore and sorry clown who is typing this from his hospital bed in the severe trauma unit at the austin. Jack kicked a goal and Roosy let him know he could play forward this week.

Roos is trying to develop Trenners and bring back the attacking part of his game lost under Neeld . I think the dilemma is that he is best suited as an inside mid ( N jones playing that role ) or defensive mid ( Cross at the minute ). Playing him in a more traditional foward setup would suit him as a pocket/flanker inside 50 ish.The guy can mark goal and is ok for speed over a short distance. Keep him off the wings! I thought VIv was ok and The Toump also. Byrnes and Bail to be dropped for mine.They have had plenty of chances ( and wasted them ) and the upside isnt that great. If J Viney is underdone start him as the sub and play JKH. Jack could have a huge impact in the third quater and wont run out of steam. we need some goal kicking power re JKH and hopefully Bleasey. Hurts to say but it could be closer than people think with Cameron being the difference.. . if its a blowout . FFS. Winning? . Go Dees.

Tough few weeks , extremely optimistic in the past but this has been a test. Individually we have some good players. Individually we have enormous potential/talent. Collectively it is poor at the moment. It will take 6 weeks for Roosy to work it and hopefully find a scoring set up and get the guys switched on. Viney Blease Tappy Maximus and any of the big three are part of this equation .I am also hopefull of the blooding of more young talent like Salem to replace guys like Byrnes and Bail unless they fire right up.Trenners needs to play forward, as an inside mid or defensive mid/tagger unless he can make the transition soon but will be given time.. And for the interim no matter how long please show some aggression. at least hurt a couple fly that red and blue flag.

I expect more from guys like Cross and Matt Jones, although a little harsh on Jones particularly I admit , who else are we going to drop? Bail isnt a natural forward and looks like he doesnt know what to do when he has the ball let alone kick a goal or three. Byrnes whatever , show us something. did we see what the young guys for the saints did for there team on the weekend? energy enthusiasim - x factor . We lacked, it was messy at times and the helter skelter of blease and viney ( hopefully over concussion sooner than later ) would have been more beneficial than the serviceable games of a few. Not playing Gawn was a mistake as his hit out in 2's showed he was probably ok to go , the lions played Browny underdone , if we are overly cautious it will cost us. It is a game we should have won. Mitchie and Vince to play more of a midfield role.

Spencer and Gawn to play , Pederson moves back for the injured Macdonald , 'id play Blease Viney ,Salem and will need a tagger so maybe Mckenzie, JKH starting on the ground and hey when he is clear kick it to him! Drop Matt Jones, Cross , Byrnes and Bail.

Hopefully Big Maxy Gawn is avaliable and firing as one of the get out targets along with Fitzy and Pederson. With the above Howe and a spread of goals from mids/small forwards we can kick enough goals to win against the Saints.

Asada recently announced after an independent audit that they are sure no one in the organisation was leaking information during this saga. Far fetched theory I have but why not? Has asada anticipated that essendon may try to discredit them once again and have the police involved to catch them out in the process? wire taps etc. proving that they are trying to derail the investigation by leaking information, dirty pool - end game in mind. Wouldn't surprise me with Little at the helm.

Big Likes for the 'old school' positioning of Spencer right in the slot in front of the leading forward. then pushing back hard to force the spill, courage and smarts. hopefully will clunk a few in future and deliver well on the out. I also like our possession style that will need work but In pre season is allowing the guys to get plenty of the ball, building decision making skills , the Cats put us under pressure and was a taste of what to expect.

the Cronulla asada outcomes will be interesting , could have an influence on the Bombers situation if links can be made , Its possible they have enough eveidence without going to Dank from the Cronulla side of things .It seems to be rife in NRL with one player admitting dealing and use recently .

Hated seeing Riv , Maloney , Miller on the ground before Davey's farewell game. Heart and soul players who could play a role and had proven so time and time again. Col played with injury alot and battled hard . Id thank him for what he did. the kid did and can play, all of these guys had bad luck with coaching changes/inept coaching and instability at club land.They had some good times also. Go Dees.

Bans to come IMO , Im a little worried about Trenners and the magic cream fiasco , Imagine how the bombers fans feel . The people responsible for this saga at the bombers should be banned for life by the club itself. Claiming they didint know what was given is not an excuse. I would expect no less if it happened at the dees no matter who it was. There are enough good people with integrity in clubland to compensate. My pop grew up in Moorabin his bro played for the Saints , He always used to say there 'was something in the water' at the saints home. Finally ! Well there's something in those needles at the shooting gallery!

I hope that Big Maxy and Jake will share the title. Both seem to be great characters and are improving at speed. Wouldn't surprise me If we traded in a Ruck if Jamar cant get back this year.

A lot of people will go for the scheme and I will get ripped for this , but from this members perspective I like the pure aspect of game day, the membership is paid and its down to the players in the red and blue ,the world stops in a way. elation in a few hours or the all to familiar. attaching a donation based on win loss promotes the idea that winning and money are exclusive and that support may not be deserved if we lose, validating the members who have dropped off in protest recently, an ineffective way of resolving things and is not really an example of toughing it out. if the club shows a some patience those protesting will sign up again.

First time posting in this great domain. I dont like the pledge to win promotion , I think it gets away from the core issue of supporting the club regardless of win or loss and sends the wrong message.
