  1. Haha, that show is awful. They all do it.
  2. I'm not worried yet, but jeez there is some stuff to be worked on. Skill errors cost us big time in that last quarter. Tracc is not right at the moment. When we lose a defensive spine player we really really struggle. These things are outside of our control or can be fixed, so with the above going right I think we'll be fine. The real problems I see are; BBB cannot go up against 3 or 4 defenders, maybe his running/leading patterns aren't right, but it's gonna come out quick if we keep kicking it to 3-4 on ones with no-one else around the ball in our forward line. We can't rely on Max to do everything (but he was enormous tonight). That leads to my final question, rather than a point. Have we stopped being creative? I'm a huge fan of our system, but when a side kicks a point or we do take a mark just outside of the D50 it seems really obvious how we are looking to kick the ball. I was with my Sydney supporting mate tonight he started laughing as I called where every kick would go over and over. Last year we would take the long kicks and be confident someone would mark it, it's just not happening enough now so maybe worth a bit of change? Tonight the players looked like they were playing to a very specific game plan when even a look inside would have seen Dees players in space for a much easier mark. I only watch the games on TV so maybe I'm missing something. I loved Kozzie's work rate tonight and it was great seeing Salem back, 10-2 just before the bye is something I could only ever dream of prior to last year and I think we were better than our game against Fremantle tonight. There's some work to do, but we can certainly build back into the beast we were at the end of 2021.
  3. The umpire did an Engadine Macca's just then.
  4. I laughed when Garry told him to basically to stop giving away their tactics. Great interview tho.
  5. New strategy for getting away with umpire dissent... Do the thumbs up after you have lifted your arms like Clarry haha.
  6. Thought Dunstan was good tonight. Viney in, he's playing some of his best football right now. Lever for Smith. IN: Kicking accuracy please, I wasn't concerned at any stage of the game, but those kicks for goal gave me the [censored].
  7. That was gross. Hinkley is done. A multi-year finals team playing like a rebuilding side to try and mitigate the damage. Absolutely awful.
  8. Looking forward to a nice single malt while I watch the game tonight. Still think we are a game up or so given our injuries from what I thought at the start of the season, so a bit nervous as always. Bowey to keep progressing on his way to a world record hopefully.
  9. Obviously the injuries we have aren't great. But kudos to the recruiting team. I look at each line and all the players can play decent footy or better, we don't have to bring in the "might be okay" players and hope for the best* *Smith and Hunt do raise my blood pressure a bit sometimes, but a premiership helps with that a great deal 😈
  10. BBB is in for a ripper season I think. Doesn't get outmarked, brings the ball to ground at worst and makes a contest. Plus has a bit of a run at players to force them out wide before they kick. Also knows how to do some nice taps if he can't mark it. And kicks goals! Weapon.
  11. With the outs I'm not super confident at all. It's all about system, if we get that right we shut down the Doges and win. But with a bunch of new back six players trying to gel with that system, we might leak more goals that any of us would like. Hopefully the mids and forward line fire!
  12. I reckon the Bulldogs will come out breathing fire. MFCSS is still strong with me despite the glory of last year, but I can't wait. Our baby had me up at 3:30 this morning, but I've taken the day off tomorrow so I can stay up "late" tonight and continue to try and get her first real word (she babbles a lot) to be... Maxxy!
  13. What a year! Merry Christmas everyone. A flag and my first kiddo came along. Couldn't ask for more!* * Santa; One more flag next year, pretty please?
  14. Woke up at 4 a.m and couldn't get back to sleep. Go Dees!
  15. How [censored] good is this. Go Dees!
  16. Also added a bit.
  17. How long has it been since we were legitimately the best team in the comp? Long may it continue. I am very entertained right now :)
  18. Our coaches deserve kudos right now. We have such a good defensive system (and players working so damn hard and not chasing possessions for themselves), so even when we have injuries and teams now trying to mitigate our game we can pull through with the big W. I was seriously worried with some of the injuries that we couldn't adapt, but we seem to be at the moment and that I reckon is because of our system and the players belief in it. It also gives the guys from the VFL a role to play when they come in, which simplifies things for them. They don't have to be heroes any more. I don't tend to engage with posters that much but I would love to see @Wiseblood come back and post. He was super optimistic over the last few years (whether I agreed or disagreed doesn't matter) and if he is lurking should come back and enjoy a start to the season I'm pretty confident very few of us have seen in our life-times.
  19. Good time for him to learn then considering our injuries.
  20. How good is this? Seriously, a team that play for each other and a structure that looks right now seriously [censored] good. I love it.
  21. Blundstone Arena is a hole for football. BBB in for Milkshake.
