  1. Unfortunately Sue our once proud club was once a mountain and has been turned into a molehill.
  2. Since 1964 we have won no premierships. Hawthorn have won eleven. Carlton eight Essendon five Richmond five North Melbourne four Geelong three No we have no reason to be negative.
  3. Those emails are vastly different, firstly the a in afternoon has gone from upper to lower case and secondly the R in regards has gone from lower to upper case.
  4. I have received a response from the MFC membership division, I have redacted personal details. Good afternoon xxxxxxxxxManDee, Thank you for your email and xxx years of consecutive membership. I apologise for the tardy response as we have had a high volume of emails this week. This week due to the loss and the disappointment amongst our supporters I have passed emails on to Paul Roos and the footy department. As he has publicised, he has received a lot of emails and due to time constraints leading into an away game he cannot personally reply to each email but please be assured however that he has read it. As a member, supporter and six year employee of the Club, I understand your frustrations however I can assure you that Peter Jackson & Paul Roos have established and reinforced a great culture within the Club, one that places an emphasis on a positive environment, that doesn’t dwell on any possible setbacks or undesired outcomes, and seeks to stay on a clear path towards future success. We are all united at the Club both on and off the field, and we all share the same passion and vision, and I can assure you we are on the right path to achieving our goals. It breaks our hearts to hear that you have lost faith in the Club and that you are considering not renewing your membership. While in isolation the last couple of weeks have been disappointing & there is little I can say to defend the performances, it remains clear that when the boys play at their best, they are competitive with any team. Hopefully the boys are able to finish the season strong and restore your trust in the Club. Our members definitely deserve better than what they were given against Carlton & I'm sure the boys realise this ahead of their games against Freo this weekend. On behalf of absolutely everyone here at the Club, players and staff included, I would like to thank you for your support of the Club – we realise that it has been trying times of late but please stick in there as I can assure you that as a Club we are well and truly in going in the right direction. Kind Regards, xxxxxxx Now that is a good response, well done MFC.
  5. "It's not that I'm angry about the emails I get, but I just think it's very negative. I completely understand how our supporters must feel, but you just have to wonder. "If supporters are telling you they are expecting to lose driving to the game, there's no doubt there's a vibe that must rub off on at least a small group of players. That's just something they [the players] have got to get over. I'm sick of talking about it." Roos compared the negative vibe around Melbourne to the long-time stigma carried by Richmond for finishing ninth. 6. If you are feeling negative take a look at Geelongs injury list, that will make you feel better. GEELONG Player Injury Estimated Return Sam Blease Concussion 1 week Josh Caddy Knee Test Mitch Clark Calf TBC Cameron Delaney Knee TBC Mitch Duncan Calf Test James Kelly Ankle Test Lincoln McCarthy* Foot Indefinite Jared Rivers Knee Season Rhys Stanley Foot Season Sorry to see Rivers on list but at least it is at Geelong
  7. Fair call Chris there are no doubt, levels of negativity that are unacceptable. If we had a winning culture and performed like Hawthorn they would probably still be whingeing. I would love that problem at MFC.
  8. rpfc, I have been positive about several players regularly pilloried here including Watts & Fitzpatrick. I have been positive about P Jackson and P Roos. I have been positive about our recruiting the last few years, damn I even though Lucas Cook would make it. By nature I am a positive person, but when I see a real problem I identify it, and talk about ways of fixing it. I do not ignore problems. The MFC has problems, the supporters are not the problem.
  9. I will not tolerate insipid performance and you find that pathetic. We are all answerable for our own performance. If you accept it you are part of the problem. Edit: What do you stand for Mach5? Do you accept the MFC performance over the last few weeks? Is it the fans fault? Do we have the right to be disappointed? Do we have the right to expect better? I am a paid up member of the MFC and have been for many years, does that entitle me to an opinion on how the club performs?
  10. I have every right to be negative when the players play as they have the last few weeks. I emailed Roos because I thought the supporters needed an explanation. WEAK!... When does a weak minded individual talk rationally to someone about a problem as I did to Roos? Backbone is to raise a problem when it is there, not to accept it and put up with sub standard performance. Sorry sir, there may be other reasons you sit alone at the footy.
  11. We the supporters are far too negative are we Roos? Try dishing up the last few weeks to Richmond, Collingwood, Carlton, Essendon, Hawthorn, Adelaide, Port Adelaide, WestCoast supporters. Your head would be on a stick. Blame the supporters all you like, we haven't failed the club because we are still paying membership. What about you? Would you be happy to show the last 3 weeks of MFC games as the mark you have left on football? The insipid performances of the players the last 3 weeks is a direct result of Paul Roos not the supporters. Man up, make the tough decisions show some god damn spine, and then the players might. Until then the supporters keep this club going and don't you forget it.
  12. Maybe Paul Roos would like to trade supporter base. We are far too negative.
  13. Are you seriously attempting to suggest that negative supporters led to the players laying 2 tackles in the first 20 minutes of football last week? Or the negative supporters that went to the Geelong game expecting another thrashing did not impact on us winning? Supporters are negative when they are dished up rubbish. What we have here is a case of cart before the horse. The negativity comes from the players lack of effort it does not cause it. Paul Roos is trying to distract blame away from his inability to motivate the players. Hey Paul Roos last week when you said the players needed to come out like maniacs, how did that go? You FAILED because you cannot lift the players, I fear that you have lost it and it is not the supporters fault.
  14. Over 50 years since the last flag! I have been expecting a fix for much of that time. Start the game like maniacs......2 tackles in the first 20 minutes of football! Sorry that is unacceptable. I love my team but that is simply not good enough. Paul Roos, try this. The supporters have every right to be negative because the players are not trying. The players need to give 100% if they don't they will play at Casey until they do.
  15. Sorry DW, long term losing clubs like StKilda & Footcray/WBDogs have supporters resigned to not being successful. Clubs with winning cultures have supporters that will not tolerate failure, yes that includes Collingwood, Richmond and Essendon and do they kick up a stink when the side under performs? Too right they do. FU Paul Roos we are negative when the side does not put in the effort required. If you want to accept the last 3 weeks first half performances it is time to move on. It is your job to get the players up and if they are are the supporters will be positive. This is your failure not the supporters. Give us a winning team and hold onto your socks for you will be swept up with unbelievable positivity. We have 35000 paid up members for a side that does not give 100% effort, The club is lucky to have us. Keep critising the supporters and you won't have a club, not that you'd care.
  16. Seriously, if we had been as successful as Hawthorn for the last 50 years would we be negative? No Roosy the negativity comes from the club, you gave it to us. If you want us to be positive it starts with you.
  17. Mmmm..... whatever floats your boat.
  18. If he was doing his job he wouldn't get the emails.
  19. Try, Thank you for your email. We will pass it on to the appropriate people. We all want Melbourne to succeed, stick with us. Go Dees! Edit: That took 30 seconds.
  20. At 9:25am I emailed membership... Peter Jackson .... and Paul Roos asking for an explanation. 10:12am Paul Roos responded, a credit to the man. Still waiting on the others.
  21. Start with getting all the ex MFC people back from Hawthorn.
  22. Not a bad way to buy some money. $1000 on Freo to win $80
  23. Jeremy Howe contact talks, Thanks for coming in Jeremy, it's like this, you play like you are not interested so our offer is we have a position at Casey and we are prepared to pay on a performance basis ie. you don't perform and we don't pay. Do you have anything you'd like to add? No, good we will play you until seasons end and say in public that you are a required player and we want you at the club. Then we will trade you to any fool that will have you or onto the rookie list OK. Thanks for coming in Jeremy on your way out could you send in the witches hat err.. Dawsey?
  24. I competed in individual sports, motorcross, enduros, squash, go carting, sailboarding. Now almost sixty I only compete in tennis. I still hate losing. I hate losing but can live with being beaten. Anyone can be beaten by a better player/team but if you lose that is through lack of effort or too many mistakes. When I lost at squash I would send myself for a 5km run straight after the match as punishment. I did this, I had pride in my performance. Where is the pride in the performance of the players of the MFC? How about, I did not earn my match payment so I will pay for junior memberships or donate to a junior football team? If it doesn't hurt to lose make it hurt, then don't lose.
  25. Welcome to the nut house, but why now?
