14-6 free kicks. 9-1 some quartet time I think. Where can we buy one?
-
"A little touch up to the guts"? What a fkn joke. There are 20 of those a week. There are two bloody sides and we are getting crucified again. What chance do we have?
-
Jacobs all over Spencer at every contest but free paid to him?
-
Interchange free kick? Do we have any luck?
-
steady the ship then send him back forward
-
What do we do? Throw watts back? How do we win it in the midfield? Get rodan back out there?
-
but apparently neeld made him languish in the vfl and wouldn't promote him!

Bombers scandal: charged, <redacted> and <infracted>

Hird may win the battle but I doubt he'll win the war. He may win the independent hearing or the delay but he is just delaying the inevitable. -
Bombers scandal: charged, <redacted> and <infracted>

To clarify, we didn't about guilt to taking, we agreed to accept the AFLs charge of bringing the game into disrepute by employing two people who made comments that were prejudicial to the interests of the game. If we didn't accept those charges the afl might have (I haven't seen the evidence) pushed ahead with tanking claims, ending up in further sanctions. The outcome might have still been not guilty for tanking but guilty of bringing the game into disrepute by deliberately not trying to win games, ie playing players or of position, surgery etc. ending in greater sanctions. I think we negotiated what we, and our legal advice, saw was the "best" possible outcome. With Essendon, Hird and Co, the charges are based around poor (negligent) management and putting players at risk (injecting with unknown substances). This has nothing to do with guilty or not of using banned drugs and everything to do with not running background checks on new staff, allowing players to be injected by a "scientist" and off site without doctors approval etc. Essendon could roll over and accept the charges against hird and the club with respect to their negligent mismanagement and get less sanctions and the brief wouldn't have been released. -

disagree. If Essendon didn't fight the afl would have probably found them "not guilty" as well. The point of the charge sheet was "these are all the things we have against you, plead guilty and we'll make it go away". I don't know what our charge sheet said or what evidence there was but for us to roll over you can bet there would have been more to it that never came out. Connolly took the fall that Hird won't, and their club will cop it as a result. -

I think that sounds like getting off lightly given what I read this afternoon. I think life bans for all involved is more appropriate plus further deregistration and possible criminal charges for some of the key parties. I'm not sure which part Essendon wants to fight, I can't see how they could possibly get of a "bringing the game into disrepute" charge if they claim they don't know what they injected players with. -
but he didn't do anything again? It was the "same" injury and it wasn't even a reoccurrence, it was irritation related to the position of the screw.

there is only a vote of there are more candidates than positions. If there are vacant positions on the board the board has power to co-opt members for the current term, who then need to be ratified at the next agm. If there are no other candidates they go through without a vote. A stable board tends not to have more candidates, as it indicates someone is rocking the boat. A handover from one board to another without a vote means it had been handled well in that the are no parties who think they would do such a better job they need to create a challenge for positions.

I know it may go against the grain but I don't think we'll see players come in that will end their casey finals campaign. Toumpas and Gawn will both play at casey as there is more for them to gain from finals footy, winning, confidence and potentially an extra 3 games experience than there is in another afl belting. I don't think we'll drop players to casey just to qualify them so Fitzpatrick will stay in the side. Taggert may get a run this week as he has already qualified.

Terlich was loose on ballantyne for three of his goals but I'm not sure there has been much dunn could have done to stop the 3 passes to pavlich on the lead.

Casey Scorpions v Bendigo Gold (Jesse Hogan hurt)
deanox replied to KC from Casey's topic in Melbourne Demons
I'd expect Toumpas and pederson to play at casey, and Tapscott and McKenzie could go either way but I'd be very surprised if we drop Fitzpatrick to qualify him. -
has been one of our best today with respect to his defending. Doesn't think quick enough when kicking out, but his defensive efforts have been solid.

We are 5 goals down. If Howe kicked those two that is 3 goals. Umpiring has got them at least 4 goals either directly from free kicks that weren't there or from an inside 50 resulting from a free kick that wasn't there. We aren't playing well enough to be in the game but we should be based on those numbers. Bog challenge for the boys in the second half: hold out together and dint get blown away. Also fingers crossed for Viney getting to 30 touches. Might be our first player this year to do so!

I reckon the specialists work weekends of they get paid enough. Question is, do we need to know?apart from to sate our interest? Treatment the first few days will be the same Regardless I imagine, and the doc/physio would be able to tell from physical examination what the problem is, the scan will just confirm what it is, the extent of the injury and show up any other issues as well (I.e. Other damaged tissue that isn't the worst of the injury). The docs might not be in but if he is getting a scan today he will have an idea today; they might not tell the layman but the guys doing scans normally have some idea how to read em! -

Assuming he didn't tweet about his injury because you haven't posted anything here? -
rivers aside as a FA, McLean is the only player to show form or promise at another club. And it took him a couple of years to get there and he is still border line I'd have thought. The trade for McLean was a perfect example of how trading should work. Both teams broke even, he was going backwards with us and we got a great pick (but stuffed it up), they got a solid back up player instead of the risk of a bust. I'd do the trade again, but I'm not sure Carlton would.

two big possession games for the Toump on a row now. Might deserve a call up but after the year he has had I'd almost say leaving him at carry to get a month of great form, lots of touches, self confidence and winning feeling back hopefully through a finals series will be better for him. He haven't had to many kids go back or come up through Casey over the last few years who were capable of getting 31 touches. 22 normally gets you promoted! -

Thanks for the updates KC! Fantastic win for Casey, great to hear about some of the boys having great games, fingers crossed for Hogan. I really feel sorry for those Bendigo boys. The vfl and afl need to sort out this competition quickly, although I imagine it is already too late for it.
