  1. I wondered the same thing. 1 year contract, throw everything at him to get him to stay onboard a bit longer and see the progress we make. Would still have every club knocking on his door in case it doesn't work out for us, just a year later.
  2. You'd be filthy if you were one of the Swans players who resigned on crappy $300k 3-4 year contracts last year, right before the Buddy trade was announced.
  3. You have to be in the top 10 paid players on the senior list to be a restricted free agent. He's an unrestricted free agent, meaning he's outside the top 10 paid. This means we can't match any rival club contract offers and force him into a trade.
  4. But boy will he be edging closer to it by holding off talks. He must be pretty lowly paid if he's an unrestricted free agent. Not good news at all if this does go pear-shaped.
  5. I think at this stage we'd all be relieved to see him by round 12.
  6. Can we please get Spencer the hell off the ground? Jesus.
  7. Likewise, been impressed with Nicho. He's going hard... loved his little hand pushaway of the Richmond player early in the 2nd with a kick to the goal square.
  8. Lack of forwards definitely showing.
  9. All that anticipation on JKH and he misses. Delist him!
  10. Season's clearly a loss. Turning off!
  11. Would have to be a massive $$$ offer from another club.
  12. Remember guys, Ross and Roos are good mates, so we won't be poaching Fremantle players without a solid gift in return (and vice versa). But I can see a Frawley/Fyfe trade as a possibility here (and don't think both coaches haven't thought about it already).
  13. There's another light training session tomorrow, no? Surely we'll know by then if this is true. As mentioned above I think it's just a misinterpretation of that article. This "new" injury is just referring to the one from a month ago. Anything on Clark's twitter?
  14. They probably understaff these games, hence the top levels are closed. Can't imagine they'd be expecting large crowds for this match.
  15. Proud to be one of those people! Wish I had a chance to thank the man face to face, but he's always in the thick of it teaching the players something new.
  16. I think the AFL, given their backing of Roos and PJ, would be looking at this situation very closely. No chance FA compensation will be dropped, given the likelihood of Frawley leaving us.
  17. His job isn't finished until he gets Roos to sign on for that third year option, increases membership to new heights, and retains some of our brightest stars. Getting a few big name recruits won't hurt either.
  18. While I think the chances are slim that he'll stay if this is another poor season, the fact that he's not waiting until the end of the season is encouraging. If we can at least show signs of promise, it'll help. Hell, if we can have 4 or 5 wins on the board by the middle of the season, he might sign on the dotted line. Interesting that Roos' 2 year contract seems to be a bit of a complication. I imagine a large portion of the playing group want him for 3 years minimum, lest he leaves at the end of 2015 and the club falls back into disarray. I'd hate to think we end up back in this situation next year with Hogan (assuming he has a breakout year).
  19. +1
  20. Frawley, Garland, Trengove and Clark in leadership group of 6.
  21. Grimes and Jones co captains. Official site leaked it.
  22. First thing I noticed when I saw Salem yesterday was how much he's bulked up in less than 4 months. Really great to see our new recruits getting into the gym and dedicating themselves to the effort. JKH was walking around shirtless at the end of training, and although not a huge unit, he's got a great frame on him and it's perfect for his agile gameplay. Don't think he needs to bulk up that much, he already lays fantastic tackles and being smaller means other players won't be able to touch him.
  23. Today's rehab group: Hogan, Dawes, Clark (our forward line together at last!), Jamar, Gawn and Fitzpatrick. Looks like Dawes has rejoined the main group now. Awesome!
  24. JKH tearing it up as usual in a drill with about ten other guys. Standout, along with Dom T.
  25. I'll definitely be popping past, some of us have to work Australia Day.
