  1. I guess Roos would have a better idea than most about his talent, but 500k seems a bargain to me if he's as good as they say.
  2. Could it be that they just want the players to make an admission of guilt, which then gives WADA sweeping power to intervene and enforce longer penalties?
  3. Not to mention spending ~800k a year on Thomas.
  4. Geez that's disappointing. Surely Roos would've been all over him if he got the faintest sniff he wanted to come home!?
  5. Makes sense, but only for the Saints. Trade in a key forward and draft a promising midfielder at #1, but what's in it for the Bulldogs apart from gaining a second or third rounder for Jones?More likely the Saints trade 1 to Bulldogs for pick 6 + Liam Jones? Almost identical to our Tyson trade last year where both sides win handsomely. Saints get a promising forward in Jones and an early midfielder (maybe even Brayshaw), Bulldogs finally get a key forward in Wright or McCartin at the top of the draft, leaving Petracca at #2 for us. http://m.heraldsun.com.au/sport/afl/western-bulldogs-forward-liam-jones-could-be-on-the-move-shaun-higgins-expected-to-leave/story-fni5f22o-1227050067973?nk=7e5ddb8bb5acf29a335e693691a62dff
  6. Surely we wouldn't be counting our chickens before they hatch, with the Frawley compensation? The club must have been told what to expect given the contracts being thrown around.
  7. Carlton apparently meeting with him after the GF, prepared to offer pick 6 to the swans if he wants to move back to Victoria. Ummmm...Roos, get on the phone please Pick 3 for Mitchell and Malceski?
  8. We also get 22 games closer to having a future superstar father/son pick in 2040.
  9. They're idiots if they decided to water down our compensation because they decide Chip "isn't that good a player". What they think of his skills as a player is bloody irrelevant. There's a formula, and that's related to the contract size and length. Nothing else is relevant. If another club wanted to take Dan Nicholson and put him on a 9 year, $10m contract, I'd expect the same compensation. If they start cherry picking compensation based on their own subjective opinions of what a player is worth, the league is officially as corrupt as it gets.
  10. Watching that interview with him Thursday, looking more and more likely he was absolutely furious because he had to come out, toe the company line, and defend his integrity by denying claims the players had the coach sacked. I'd be pretty disenchanted with my employer if I was put in such a nonsensical situation and had to defend my integrity. Could explain why he was so touchy with Newman's questioning (although he does push buttons), and why some of his answers seemed so rehearsed.
  11. What likelihood is there that Sanderson was prepared to entertain a trade for Patty but the board intervened to prevent losing him, and will now play hard ball and refuse to trade him? That quote from Roo where he said "if we didn't make this decision now, things would almost definitely have gotten worse for our club". Could he have been referring to the Danger trade that Sanderson was prepared to entertain? /conspiracytheory
  12. Seems at odds with what the club have been told privately they're expected to receive, based on various factors. If Roos said he expects picks 3 the other week it's for good reason.
  13. Adelaide's main problem is that all 3 of Danger, Sloane and Tex will be getting seven figure offers from other clubs, and they can't match it for all 3 players without running into salary cap problems. All 3 become free agents at the same time too, worryingly for them.
  14. Might be buttering up rival clubs to soften the blow of giving us pick 3 as a PP.
  15. [censored] off you parasitic worm. I empathize with the other posters here who have given their two cents. Without getting into details, I know what depression entails and what it does to people. Put simply, it's a [censored] of a condition. For Mitch to pull this over us though... gives an absolutely deplorable impression to the cause of mental illness and giving society a better understanding of how debilitating it can be. To retire under the guise of a clinical depression illness then miraculously "recover" from said depression (that's insulting alone), but refuse to return to the club that supported you above and beyond their duty of care... it just stinks. Absolutely appalling behavior and I have no qualms whatsoever in speaking my mind about this. Especially when others, genuinely suffering from clinical illnesses, find themselves in financially poor and insufferable positions. Mitch is a millionaire for crying out loud, and he's disgruntled with us because our salary offer was insignificant for his manager's commission threshold.
  16. Definitely a good line to throw in the face of any Hawthorn supporters who don't think we should get a PP.The most outrageous campaigners would be Carlton supporters though. Tankers in every definition of the word, apart from according to the AFL. They had, what, 2 PPs in a row? Even I can support the rule changes they introduced after that, but for Christ sake at least implement the revised rules instead of defying them.
  17. You'd think twice about signing up for the membership knowing your money is just being [censored] down the toilet to some lawyer in a doomed court appeal.
  18. Neither Malceski nor Mitchell are coming to us if you believe the reports.
  19. Given where our VFL team finished on the ladder, you're being generous there hulkhogan.
  20. Port were not robbed at all. They made the same mistake as Fremantle last week, not capitalizing on their scoring shots. Any of those points changing to a goal is a win. Not dissimilar to our shocking inaccuracy which cost us multiple games this year.
  21. Unbelievable finish... Port have the goods to dominate for years and years. Good on them.
  22. Ten points in it with 4 minutes to go!
