Delistings/trades at end of the season
SaberFang replied to Northern Summer's topic in Melbourne Demons
Roos probably wouldn't come out and say that unless something was in the works. Who knows, maybe Prestia's all a sideshow? -
Not sure if anyone's mentioned it yet, but why does Rockliff have a barcode tattoo on his bare ass?
-
Really strange final 3 matches this round. Lots of emotion and strange happenings.
-
Salem?? News to me. I'd say JKH is likely to be dropped until he finds form, but his ideal replacement (Kent) won't be ready for at least another fortnight.
-
It'll be a repeat of their laughable finals appearance last year.
-
Browny's right. Sinclair missing that goal a few minutes ago was basically the tank going empty. They goal there and I reckon they go on to win.
-
Never rule out the Saints. They're only down by 15 points now with 6 minutes left... they can win.
-
He probably got a lot of credits in the bank for his NAB debut against Richmond, but can we please remember he's a second year player with 19 games under his belt (and a good chunk of those as sub)? It's the development of our youngsters that will see them blossom into better players and this takes time.
-
A win's a win. Don't see Bombers fans bemoaning their win last week when it was really just our shocking inaccuracy that gave them the 4 points. Credit where it's due. I'll have to watch the replay to get a better feel for the game, but keeping Brisbane to such a pathetic score (when they looked super impressive against the top sides over the last month) could actually be a credit to our defence. As always, we're continually learning how to balance attack and defence and we're still struggling to get the balance right. For a young team, this is perfectly alright by me.
-
We could easily repeat that effort if we don't switch on. Look at what happened in the Port game, and even the Bulldogs game in the NAB challenge.
-
31 points is nothing in the modern game. Respond, Melbourne. You're looking flat now!
-
AFL obviously got in the ear of the maggots at quarter time to protect their northern state investment.
-
Was really impressed with Harmes dart kick to Dawes in Q1, which resulted in a Hogan mark and goal.
-
Is JKH carrying something? He's really gone off the boil this year... 2nd year blues?
-
McDonald a reinvigorated swingman, another Paul Roos masterstroke. Just need to get 2 years into his brother with McCartney and we'll have a McDonald at both ends.
-
Nathan Jones 0 possessions. [censored] off Robinson.
-
Would be delightful to see another explosive game from the Hulk... on current tracking he'll kick 2 per quarter.
-
Any chance the umpires might adjudicate the in the back rule consistently at any point today? Brisbane players shoving and jumping on our players all over the field and we get zilch. The umps give Brisbane the equivalent frees though.
-
Obviously Nathan Jones would be the T-5000, the living embodiment of Skynet. His mission is to corrupt the leader of the future Melbourne premiership team, Angus Brayshaw, into a T-3000. He then corrupts an entire team of VFL-spec players into believing they are capable of being AFL-spec and winning more than 4 games in one season. Of course this doesn't factor in the time-travelling subplot where Simon Goodwin returns to 2011 and makes copies of Essendon's drugs program spreadsheets, before Vlad can tip them off.
-
Hopefully we get the extra 3 players on the field working in our favour, too.
-
We'd be here all night if I had to list what the AFL manipulate to ensure Sydney stay successful. Every aspect of the game is tainted to protect them.
-
Brisbane only have 3 quarters of stamina in them these days. Rest assured they'll play a solid 4 quarters tomorrow though.
-
Prolonged periods at the bottom of the ladder will soon be a death knell for smaller clubs, as the new generation of kids take centre stage. Their attention span is split between 5 things at once, and it's part of the reason the AFL desperately manipulate the competition to keep Sydney in contention. The moment they have a sustained period at the bottom is the moment everyone in Sydney stops giving a [censored] about AFL.
-
Would have to be the worst case scenario for the AFL. Even worse than Franklin choosing Sydney over their precious GWS.
-
I understand what you're saying, but Roos needs to put his words where his mouth is and reward good form in the seconds. What kind of abhorrent message does it send to the playing group that good form is ignored when the coaches have your name pencilled in for delisting? A great way to lose the playing group and cause division, that is.
