  1. Agree. Proof that it is best not to speculate on these matters That will sure help the situation.
  2. Agree. But getting Miller to "trail" Scarlett is like chasing the horse after he has bolted from the paddock. Regardless of who takes Scarlett, he more likely to hurt you offensively more than defensively. The best way to curb Scarlett is to make he and other defenders accountable for their opponents and not take the risk to run off them which they do so well. And the way to do that is win the midfield contests and place pressure on their defence with well executed inside 50s. If we are under pressure in the midfield then Scarlett/Mackie/Enright will hurt us in the set up of their attacks.
  3. Not surprising at all given the past inconsistency of the MRP. Disappointing anyway
  4. Definite No. Warnock or Frawley to Pods. They were steamrolled in the last the previous week by Carlton though. The sting should have been in their tail. FWIW, I dont think either Jetta or Watts looked underdone in Darwin.
  5. McLean is a solid meat and veg midfielder that will never be a star but might build a role in a side like Carlton. I cant recall many posters saying we should trade him last year... Mind you MFC got KOTD when Carlton gave pick 11. Go Gysberts My issue is that some posters would think Simon Buckley was worthy "trade bait" to pull a very good draft pick.
  6. Well said and on the money. Yep we'll pull in a big fish with that "trade bait". Trade bait = represents one side of a trade deal where MFC gets a great deal and the other club duds itself big time by chasing a player who is a fringe player at MFC with significant limitations at AFL level but offers an unbelievable draft pick in return.
  7. Totally agree. North were pretty timid in the contests yesterday. There huff and puff does not hide a couple of players who dogged it yesterday.
  8. Who cares about his career to date? I referred to posters who thought he was finished and acknowledged his performance tonight so far. You were the hero that snidely attacked his career. Well done. Glad you enjoyed the win and Millers contribution. That was my initial point. Players like Miller deserve better than your cheap sniping. And its a no brainer he needs to perform each week. Go Dees From the man in most need of some sound advice....Ugh! Agree about the win.
  9. Great win by the Dees!!! We win by one. Miller kicks 5! Thanks Legend. You have excelled yourself. Wonderful insight.
  10. Thank you Brad Green 15.8 to 10.10 Go Dees....
  11. Its becoming a habit. Its now 5 goals and its really a step back to have him in the team. FFS. Tonights effort answered critics who thought he was finished. Keep up the good work DD.
  12. Ugh! It got nothing to do with precedent. Well done. Miller with 3 to half time is a good effort. Even you could work that out....Well maybe.
  13. Well done Jetta. Back to 19 points. 9.6. to 6.5. One more before 1/2 time???
  14. He's an honest footballer who gives his all. Good on him. I would think you would be the last to give advice DemonDan.
  15. Bennell gets his 2nd. Great stuff. Go Demons. Watts another goal assist.
  16. Miller got his 2nd. Alot of posters should be blushing.... Great work Davey and goal assist to Watts.
  17. Good and agree. Brad Green a banana! Go Demons
  18. If there is no match up...Casey.
  19. Sorry you're wrong again. We had insufficient entries into F50 and what went in was poorly delivered. Dress it up how you like though
  20. Ugh. If you dont win the midfield you dont win the game. Our lack of run was through the midfield and from the backline. The forward line suffered as a result. You could put Peter Hudson up forward and that would be useless as we really attacked inside 50 with any purpose. In respect of your summation, I agree.
  21. Thank God he has stopped thinking he was Aaron Sandilands!! FFS, Bell has been nine years on the list as a midfielder/running back.
  22. With all due respect, its highly probable that Spencer has sold a complete stranger a pup. If it is true it would be indiscrete for a player to divulge issues on team selection before a match. Caveat Emptor.
  23. No they aren't. PJ is just a mobile ordinary footballer. The skillsc required these days for football are such that I dont think the necessary skill sets for football and other ball codes are that different. Athleticism is now a core ingredient in every sport. Years ago I loved Mick "The galloping gasometer" Nolan for North. Pity is, he is a dinosaur and would not cut it today or 10 years ago for that matter.
  24. Or put another way, Clubs are a little more precise these in their assessment and expectations of players when 1. They have the ball (and what they do with it) 2. They dont have the ball (eg accountability, tackling and defensive pressure) 3. The ball is neutral territory (eg judgment, commitment, contesting ball winning attributes)
