  1. This would make sense to me, still a little dazed by it all though
  2. Wait - I am confused by JCB's post. Just clarify - I have nominated S. Thompson, J. Redden / A.Miles, C.Beams as my keepers. I have Thomas, Carrazzo and Sylvia who may be of interest to people. Could I trade one of them for a rookie keeper to go ahead of Miles or Beams?
  3. My keepers will be: S. Thompson, J. Redden / A.Miles, C.Beams
  4. Best thread EVER. I'm in and can't wait. Pre warning - I'm in ths US for 5 football weeks mid season but please don't think I won't be taking this seriously. I'll just be offering around 10 trades per week, down from my normal 100
  5. Dees supporters don't take bad news very well, ey. Deegirl has been spot on with most things on 'ology. I'd take her word
  6. While Trengove didn't have a great year can I point out a few stats. 199 kicks (6th at Melbourne) 190 handballs (2nd at Melbourne) 88 marks (7th at Melbourne) 99 tackles (2nd at Melbourne) 8 goals (12th at Melbourne) To me these stats suggest they worked on his inside game and his pace wasn't an area of focus. (2nd handballs, 2nd tackles) Remember he is a 3rd year player in one of the worst clubs in the league. With better players around him his stats would improve and there's nothing to suggest his natural progression won't continue. As Melbourne improve so will Jack Lets compare his stats to Dustin Martin, the very next pick in the draft. Keep in mind he is rated highly and currently plays in a more successful side 257 kicks (6th at Richmond - 58 more than JT) 190 handballs (6th at Richmond - 9 less than JT) 63 marks (16th at Richmond - 25 less than JT) 60 tackles (7th at Richmond - 39 less than JT) 23 goals (4th at Richmond - 15 more than JT) JT's stats are comparable with arguable the highest rated player from this draft. While he may have 'looked slow' at times during 2012, he was by no stretch being left behind by his teammates. Comments above that Trengove is likely to be on the outer in years to come are laughable. He will continue to be one of the first picked for the next 10 years
  7. He wanted to quit Collingwood half way through the year. He won't play AFL next year.
  8. If anyone from Tiwi, then this bloke - http://www.sportingpulse.com/team_info.cgi?player=Ross%20Tungatalum&action=PSTATS&pID=190478214&client=1-2860-0-185094-15935070
  9. Hell no! He was [censored] when he was fit. He played 2 good games ever! He'll be the worst player on any list if he is picked up.
  10. The guy has all the attributes but was just out of favour. Hard, tough, couragous, good kick. Not overly quick but a quality footballer. Primus stuffed him around and he deserves a go. I hope we get him
  11. He's chicken [censored] and a head ducker. No thanks
  12. Basically RFA is in place so the player can get the best deal possible. If their original club chooses to match another clubs offer, the player can can accept or reject this. Pretty simple. Basically means loyalty is going out the window
  13. At one of Mark Neelds opening speeches as coach of the Melbourne Football club, he finished by saying "I will fight tooth and nail for everything the Melbourne Football Club stands for". This got me thinking. What do we stand for? At the moment we surely don't stand for success. After the tanking debacle, we don't stand for pride. After the McDonald, Scully, Moloney situations we sure don't stand for 'culture'. In my time I've only seen the MFC stand for one thing. Survival. We have just survived after voting for a merger. We have just survived after a $5m debt. We have are just surviving to stay above the two expansion teams on the ladder. Is this what we are destined for? Are we to only expect to survive or do we actually stand for something?
  14. I've said it before i'll say it again. Sylvia is our best player. Judging him harsher than others is unfair. Players don't seem to thrive in the environment that we provide, yet he is still one of our most productive. Don't tell me about B&F finishes. I don't care. He has battled OP, started seasons with broken backs and broken jaws. He's been played on a HFF or deep in the forward line when he should have always been in the midfield. He is our only player capable of tearing a game apart, yet people want to move him on for untried kids? Give me a spell. He is our best kick, surprisingly quick, great mark and has improved his decision making greatly. Good, fit footballers can play until they are 34. He still has 8 years and a couple of premierships left in him at the MFC
  15. Clark - Would have kicked 60+ in a bottom 3 side if he played the whole year Frawley - Easily our best defender. AA and gun Jones - Proven me wrong, continues to improve will be a 300 game player Sylvia - Has it all, judged way to harshly Watts - Showing great signs. Will be a star Trengove - Been down this year yet still in top 3 disposals for club Grimes - Showing good signs that he can play a whole year McDonald - Second year player holding down CHB. Solid! Jurrah - Proven goal kicker, perfect foil for Clark Howe - Elite runner, elite mark, not the best kick but a real asset when plays to strengths As with Dr. Mubutu - Definitely need more mids in these lists!
  16. Schofield, Merrett, Jackson will cost you. As long as Thomas and Robinson are back in it will be a 14-1 win. FA's always cost me
  17. I can't see Thompson getting any weeks. IF he does get suspended then it will be an injustice and you MUST rest your best mid! Actually looking at your side, I don't know how you're favourite? Should be a walk in the park for the 24's
