@layzie said it's like no other coach sacking. I disagree. As a 13 year old I'd seen us raise the cup in 1964. After 12 rounds in 1965 we were 9-3. We sacked Norm Smith. It took us 57 years to win another flag. Perish the thought we'll have a repeat of 'The curse of Norm Smith'. Having said all that, another flag would never have come with Simon at the helm. Last point, I'll love Simon and my Dees until I die for bringing me such joy that September night.

The problem is that we need a complete clean out of the coaches. The current group have failed at developing our players, save for about three. Sacking Goodwin whilst keeping those under him, will achieve nothing IMO.

He may even have a ghostwriter.

As I mentioned in another post, I'm at Pesaro on the Adriatic coast of Italy, and I'll be tuned into the game whilst on my way to Venice. I've got nothing to contribute to this thread . I just wanted to brag 😄🇮🇪

Well, I don't know how many Dees are up the snow but I'm at Pesaro on the east coast of Italy (temp about 35 today) and there's not a Carlton jumper to be seen anywhere. I'm off to Venice today. May see one there. I doubt it

I've mentioned this and nauseum, and I'll say it again. The 'farm thing' is real. I've lived on the Surf Coast for 50 years. I know Danger's family, Cookie et al. The Cats have Nigel Austin (Cotton On) and the Costa group as major sponsors. Both are both Billionaires (capitalized on purpose). The club and players want for nothing. The club is planning to build a $20m 'community facility'. $10m donated by the aforementioned sponsors. The Cats rort the system. Costa fought the Australian mafia and 'won'. He schooled BC. Taking on the AFL is kid's stuff. The AFL is powerless. A joke. No league in the world can control off the book payments If the Cats wanted Clarrie they could get him tomorrow. Same for any player in the league.

I'm not sure some of our assistant coaches are 'up to scratch'. The last three years we've had as many, if not more, players go backwards as have progressed. I remember attending a B&F some years back when Scott West was our midfield coach. It was noticeable how many of our players were effusive of his coaching when receiving of their awards. I've rarely heard similar mention of our coaching staff since.

A suggestion: approach Specsavers to sponsor the flags.

Plan to be spontaneous tomorrow (Steven Wright).

I love Milkshake but he's chance of a contract extension is slipping away on the back of today's performance. The gap between his best and worst is huge.
