PRESEASON TRAINING: Monday 12th February 2024
I've heard sillier ideas - moving May forward et al

PRESEASON TRAINING: Monday 12th February 2024
Clint Stanaway on Channel 9 approx 1845h from Seymour. My guess is that, with hot weather predicted, they changed training time to beat the heat. Clarrie very popular in Seymour (looking at clip).

Sydney game pre match meet up
Myself and 25 mates from Torquay starting at the London Hotel in Paddington. Approx 23 minute walk to the SCG.

PRESEASON TRAINING: Friday 2nd February, 2024
I don’t think Redleg was defending Goody. He was just stating a fact viz ‘clearly Goody disagrees with you’.

The two words I like seeing in the same sentence are ‘Oliver’ and ‘training’.

2023 Player Reviews: #2 Jacob van Rooyen
Agree. He's often spotting an opposing ruckman 10 or more kilos. Far from ideal for a youngster to take frequent knocks to the torso.

Best 44 2024
Gawn rucking all game? I assume JVR would ruck forward of centre as per last season but then that was on the FF line.

2023 Player Reviews: #24 Trent Rivers
Like Sparrow his powerful boot makes him a real threat playing in the midfield. No concerns about connecting with the forwards when you can have a shot from 60 metres.

Best 23 for every club
McStay unlikely to play this season.

Farewell Brodie Grundy
Hope he's Mr June or Mr July when I'm OS.

PRESEASON TRAINING: Monday 4th December 2023
Pardon my ignorance: only change to coaching ranks is McQualter replaces Yze? Stafford remains forwards coach (and ruck coach)? Chaplin defence coach?

The 2023 AFL Draft Thread
I do hope the Collingwood childrens' farm is still running - - somewhere local for KT to hone his skills.

Wow. How many Koltyns do we now have at the club?!!

Any word on Angus?
Agree. He'll likely have 50+ years post footy. It's a long time to suffer migraines, CTE or whatever multiple concussions could very likely cause. Nathan passed the test on game day because he'd memorised the answers. He ruled himself out as he had blurred vision. No way would I mention it to Nathan, but I'm sure his parents have. He's a talented cricketer so that might be a path he could follow.

Any word on Angus?
No need to change Sam. LJ = Liam Jurrah!

Any word on Angus?
I had a word with my mate this morning whose son plays with the Pies. The young bloke has to undergo extensive testing by the AFL (due to numerous concussions) before he can resume his career. My friend was talking with Mark Brayshaw. Apparently Gus also underwent the testing procedure and has been given the all clear. I’m not sure about young Nate. Ten concussions and it took him a couple of days to recover from his last knock.

Harrison Petty
I call BS, specifically re Harry fuelling speculation about a move to Adelaide. Re golf: for goodness sake he was playing with a mate he was at boarding school with (Fogarty) and Fogarty's mate Hinge. Fogarty and Hinge were teammates at Glenelg. Petty has played 51 games of a possible 70 over the last three seasons. He is injury prone but so too is TMac, BBB, Salem, Melksham et al. I'm not sure that the club 'has invested heavily' in Harrison. I doubt he'd be in our top 10 re salary. Anyway, I hope he plays well next year, and beyond and extends his contract.

Harrison Petty
Talk of Harrison Petty being homesick confuses me. He was born in Widunna which is 570km NW of Adelaide. I assume his family is still there. He did attend boarding school in Adelaide. Harrison stated, when drafted, that living away from home helped to prepare him for a shift interstate. Talk about moving from Melbourne to Adelaide (to be close to his family) is akin to moving from Adelaide to Melbourne to be closer to Eden. NSW.

Sydney-focused Split Round to Open 2024 Floated
Our 2024 fixture may have us playing round 1 at the SCG, ANZAC eve away, KB away, Alice Springs (home) and Kardinia and Hobart. Yep - ugly.

Harrison Petty
In light of what Tim Lamb has said today this thread should be closed and/or deleted. In case any DL'ers haven't heard, the club had no intention of trading Harrison Petty.

TMac & Brown
I'm happy to be corrected but if either one or both retired I do not think their salaries are off our books. I believe either their full salaries or their payout figure (if different) is still part of our TPP next year.
