  1. What do the Hawks have that would compensate the Crows...?
  2. I would be equally as excited about Treloar with #2, kids a gun..
  3. I think he was justifiably trying to understand your reliability as a source old boy, with only 26 posts its not like you have an established pedigree. No need to fire up..
  4. I'm wondering in which context Roos made the comments. Did he seek out the reporter? Was it a scheduled presser where he was naturally asked the question, at which point he acknowledged that any club would be stupid not to look at Danger... All very exciting nonetheless. Certainly got to help that Goodwin is in our corner now.
  5. I think its more that the club see value in him, but just think that he'd find his potential elsewhere. Given they see the value in him they don't want to get peanuts for him, but because the rest of the AFL haven't seen his worth from the inside, peanuts is all they'll offer.
  6. This is where it gets interesting, because Adelaide hold some cards. Adelaide can go to Danger and say, "righto, we know you're not staying so we've organised a trade to Melbourne". Dangers like, "thats unacceptable" but Adelaide will say "too bad. If you don't like it, commit longer term otherwise that's where you're going." He's not a free agent yet.
  7. I'd be very surprised if anyone was eager to take Trengove as he recovers from a navicular issue, an injury which has form in destroying careers..
  8. I took a wide berth of this thread when it first popped up, no one wanted my one eye casting positivity over the criticism. However, after watching the season review from Jack on MFC.com I thought I'd make a wee comment. For one, the fact that he was asked to do a video review of the season alongside Jones and Vince (so far) tells me that he is highly regarded within the club. That in itself means nothing about whether he will be traded, but its something. His responses about Roos were most telling for me; constantly joking with Roosy about the criticism, always been in support, probably don't thank him enough etc. Jack is Roos' project. He is very much a part of the legacy that Roosy wants to leave on the club. He was the one who backed in him from day dot, encouraging him to stay on for the good of the club. He has supported him endlessly throughout the year, and now we hear about a father son type relationship that they seem to share. Alongside the high esteem he is clearly held in within the club, it is obvious to me (and perhaps me alone) that those who wish him offloaded in the upcoming trade period, will be sorely disappointed.
  9. Have to say, I have the same view of Lumumba, bloke appears an absolute goose. However a lot of what you hear about him from those that are close to him suggests that he's a good bloke, passionate and self-righteous sure, but fundamentally a good bloke. I read an article quoting Luke Ball today (who I've always considered a decent person), he was commenting on how he was a good mate of his. Heard that Dawesy is one of his good mates as well, and I think most people see Chris as a good fella. Maybe its a case of not judging a book by its cover. Roosy sat with him for an hour and half the other day and was quite enamoured. And after all that, he's an ex AA. I'll take him.
  10. Tend to agree, people are talking about this as a loss for us but we didn't even have Clark until this week so its all upside...
  11. Just read on twitter (so take this comment as no more) that Clark has again met with Collingwood and Lumumba has asked to leave to take a leadership role at MFC alongside his mate Chris Dawes.
  12. http://www.theage.com.au/afl/afl-news/magpies-make-a-pitch-for-mitch-clark-20140909-10eobl.html Is this proof enough for some?
  13. News just out that Hawthorn have denied interest, the plot thickening. Can I add that this thread is destroying my productivity at work.
  14. No preseason is more important than the one before your first year, surely. So from the glimpses we've seen, I'm hopeful. He often didn't get the ball enough because he didn't have the fitness to get himself in to a useful position, I reckon he spent most of his time on the ground running effective beep tests as the ball went one way then spat back the other. Looking forward to seeing him in action with a few more km's in his legs.
  15. Guess we can't be certain, but I trust that will be a question asked in the interview process.
  16. Simon Goodwin steps up talks with Demons Seems like official interviews are imminent. How about a Goodwin and Bomber double? Last night on 360 Bomber didn't seem too eager to be a senior coach again, reckon he's looking for a Director of Footy role such as what Neil Craig has at Essendon. This is something we could offer him. Bring Goodwin on as Senior Assistant and Bomber on as Director of Football, helps with Goodwin's seamless education as it continues an existing relationship. Then when Roos steps in to the shadows Goodwin steps up, but still with Bomber offering ongoing sage advice when needed. Continuity, seamless transition, things that Roos has publicly stated he is seeking. Makes sense to me...
  17. Interesting point made earlier re PP. The language of Roos last night seemed that he was very hesitant on welcoming Mitch back, trying to suggest that its actually unlikely he will come back. Perhaps it is all positioning in order to prevent the PP being put in jeopardy. Given the PP is decided before the end of October, maybe they are keeping their powder dry.
  18. Somehow makes it easier, made for each other.
  19. The panic about lamumba is overplayed, he is a quality player. Ex All-Australian and is absolutely worth a look.
  20. MIke Sheehan was also adamant he was gone. Suggested that the dees were eager to have him on the list (so delist, not trade him) because it strengthens the case for a priority pick. Lets face it, given MC's problems, if we pick up a PP from this debacle, then we probably come out ahead.
  21. So we turn to compensation. Surely him heading elsewhere locks away a PP plus the normal compensation from the trade. Perhaps that's not such a bad thing? Remember that Clark was struggling with soft tissue injuries all year, that is not something that just goes away.
  22. I have no idea who to believe. Why are all these commentators so bloody certain he's going, just give us a clear answer!!!
  23. So many mixed messages, don't know what to believe. Why would Hawthorn be interested in him, where does he sit on their list? An earlier comment joked about Gunstan but frankly I wouldn't accept much less. Who else would you take on their list?
  24. Fox Footy ‏@FOXFOOTY 26m Paul Roos will be on the grill tonight – Mitch Clark, Heretier Lumumba and James Frawley are all on the agenda - #AFL360 @FOXFOOTY
