  1. After the Fremantle and Sydney games I promised that I would never trust this side again. This side does not fill me with confidence that they have week to week or collective mental resilience. Essendon have been putrid most of the year, partly injury and partly game style embedding. They are playing for nothing which in mind will be our issue. They will free wheel and we will over think it. A good side with a maturing culture would just get it done. Let’s see who can stand up two weeks in a row.
  2. No. He has recurring soft tissue injuries which is the first sign. The second sign is surely he can see when has been in that the game has started to pass him. Thirdly surely he understand he will be holding back the development of a younger player. In a year where list sizes will be tight it seems like a very self centred decision. This was his extra year, we owe him nothing more than that.
  3. LJ and Hibberd are best 22. Ignore LJ’s height he is quality on ground and in pressure just as much as In the air (maybe more so) Jetta out for Hibberd or Lockhart (if Hibberd not ready) Hunt or ANB for LJ I would personally play Harmes over AVB but cant see them doing it.
  4. Disagree I suggest he would have a kicking efficiency as good if not better than Salems.
  5. Has already made a half back flank his own but i reckon he has all the traits to be a seriously good mid as his tank improves.
  6. Whilst he is not directly having a massive impact. Melksham into the midfield in a defensive role improved both our midfield and forward dynamic tonight.
  7. I dont think its confidence. Maybe we should consider in a shortened year the young 40 game player who has been the key target in 11 straight games may be tiring? Its not like with LJ and Petty out and TMacs form we’ve had viable options to give him a rest. He has clearly dropped off his impact but his effort is still there and he is halving more contests than not. Hopefully a weeks break will recharge him for the Bombers.
  8. Out: Jetta, AVB, Fritsch In : Lockhart, Harmes, LJ
  9. Ryan also debuted at the age of 21. Pickett is only going to get stronger with better endurance and composure within a game plan. To play at your best under last nights pressure shows a clear talent who can play to the occasion. I look forward to seeing where he takes it.
  10. Great to see us back to playing with some flair and dash. I’ll accept the higher errors when you give that style a go. May and Langdon are immense. Trac and Oliver in particular refused to lose. However that’s a win for the role players Baker, Rivers, Koz, Spargo, Jetta did what they had to do. Let’s at least give ourselves a shake next week,.
  11. 6. May 5. Langdon 4. Trac 3. Rivers 2. Oliver 1. Spargo
  12. A good game of footy to watch. Let’s see if we have the want, the run and the nerve to give it a shake in the last.
  13. At 26 he will not improve his decision making nor will he suddenly play first option selfless football. Goes hard which is important but that’s it.
  14. Couple of shocking turnovers but at least they are trying to play with dare, The game has been even pretty much even throughout so levels scores at the half about right. Need to get back on top at the stoppage and if Viney could please just take first option.
  15. Having a dip and playing with some dare. That’s all you can ask.
  16. List for me the best small backs in the league that you would rate higher?
  17. He’s not B grade but he wont cost a future first, If you can convince him and he chooses to leave they will find a way.
  18. I watch a lot of Essendon due to the wife. Has serious ball carrying speed, is a good long and short kick and very rarely loses a contest. If he is any chance should be our number 1 target.
  19. The MFC way would be to play our best game since 2018 and win easily to then not turn up next week. I dont think we are finals worthy or bound so this will be as close to a final as you can get without playing one with both having it on the line. Let’s see who stands up and whether allegedly having a game style that should stand up in finals actually does. My hope is we come out and try and win the game and play on with some aggressive ball movement and defensive pressure rather than try and stop them from winning it and control the ball and fall over the line.
  20. We need to desperately address our run and polish and look to improve our key position stock without spending a fortune. Saad, Williams, Finlayson should be our priorities as well as Polec on a suitable wage. Of others out of contract Atkins, Cumming, Mihocek, Cedric Cox, Narkle I am sure other names will come up in contract but the above is based on OOC except Polec.
  21. Agree. Our top 7 stands up against all sides but against the top 5 our 8-18 don’t have the consistent quality needed. I think we struck gold last draft and I believe a further preseason there as well an available Jordon, Petty, Hore will improve our 8-18 quality. However for the past 3-4 years we have hung on to too many that should have been turned over sooner to uncover more. That combined with no top 20 talent 2016-2018 hurts,. Being we have no early pick this year it will be interesting to see how we navigate the trade and free agency period to close the gap.
  22. Changes are very beige granted they probably right some things that didn’t work last time. Gee TMac is on the outer. Hoping Nev can show them what it means to play every game like its your last.
  23. Ignore his last name. If this unlocks a mid-late first round pick and $600-700k that allows us to start to rebalance our side. Don’t push him out but dont over extend on him and if he wants to go dont stand in his way.
  24. We advised Neeta he would be given another year so he would not rush a program no idea whether main list or rookie. We have plenty of players with exposed form out of contract that we know are not good enough. In a highly compromised and allegedly shallow draft with limited exposure to players backing in a kid who has worked on his body and been around the club to take a final spot on the list is the right thing to do with limited risk.
  25. Is the type of player not getting a look in at another club that we should be checking out.
