Cale Morton

I actually hope he stays a midfielder and doesnt develop into a KPP. People will think me mad, but we will draft a big CHF eventually, and personally I think we could use a star midfielder as we havent had one in a long long time. Travis is the closest thing we've had in probably 20 years or so, with flashes from Woe and some grit from Viney etc. I want a midfielder with exquisite skills who wins games off his own boot, and Cale could be that player.

I'm with you there.

PS. Nice analogy, Jaded.

Exactly, look at brock, look at jones, one is 22 or so, the other 20 and we expect them to be as good as Kerr, Black etc except they are all older and more experienced, also when they were younger they had a great midfield around them to take the pressure off them, those 2 take the best 2 tags every week, by the time they are 25-7 they will be great players and hopefully Morton will be the cherry on top.

i'll third that.

there was speculation that Kerr would be traded when he was about the same age as brock, ditto Goodes who was lacking consistency. thats a while ago now and they have both developed into gun players. i see it soo often when a midfielder bursts onto the scene and then has a plateau before he hits his peak. demon fans get impatient because we lack star players, but i think brock will still become the player we had all hoped.

1%, I was with you all the way till you said 1%. By the way, you were right 1% does sound a bit far fetched!

Should I have put a . in front of the 1%?

BTW young Wonie looks a likely type. Tough gig to debut against the team of the decade!

I would have thought the Lions winning three in a row this decade puts them a fair way in front of Geelong.

Been impressed with Cale,

Really mobile but can take a nice grab. Covers some territory too.

Has to be said though that his really indecisive. Not always his own fault though.

but Lord knows we need a marquis player

Found this quite amusing

Peter *Trunk* Marquis a demon great

Perhaps meant "Maquis" - armed French Resistance fighters. Now THAT we could do with...

Garry Lyon commenced his career in 1986 and was quickly a revelation. I suppose that I have higher hopes for Morton. There's a touch of Robbie and Hird about young Cale. Please no knobbish posters now accusing me of undue pressure on the kid, or you will be dealt with severely :)

Healy started in 1979 and was a young star on the wing in his first year before playing predominantly forward over the next few. And if you never saw Healy play, it's silly to say "not sure about that". It's best to say nothing.

Dude, seriously, all i said was that i am not sure about how good a player healy was because i never saw him.. just F*cking relax and dont be some knitpicky..
