Training Today 28/11

Wrecker... Cheers.

Living so far away from Melbourne, posts like this are gold.

Maloney deserves his spot, he works so hard.

Jones, what can we say, here is our star.

Thanks mate.

Diabalo, get out there with that camera next week mate.

Thanks for the training updates. I would never have put Beamer right up there in the spatial awareness categories, as he always, always gets tackled trying to take on a second and third opponent when breaking out of a pack. Good for him though that he's finally able to have a flying pre-season.

As for Wheels, bit of a worry if he's in the rehab group again this pre-season as he was last year. At his age and with the style of football he plays, is his body starting to let him down? Lets hope not, or its a slippery slope to retirement.

I expect to see a photo in the paper the day after all our draftees join their first training session, the obligatory 'group shot', each holding a footy, smiling and quoted as saying 'its great to be training with some of my boyhood idols' and 'I didnt realise it would be so intense'...

well today is actually the day the new draftees start training! so i wonder if anyone went down and checked it out

A new generation is emerging, a full cycle is almost complete-

1. Knowing how to spell

2. Not knowing how to spell because the spellchecker corrects everything anyway.

3. Not knowing how to spell, and being on a forum/chat which doesn't have a spell checker.

4. wtf lol

5. Callaps of civilizashun as we konw it

This is what happened to the Romans, I swear.

'Visigoth' is actually spelt 'Visalageth'.

Fight Back! Hand write a letter to your grandmother. It's the only hope.

they should be like me. get fire fox. install the spell check add on. and you'll never have this problem again.

(unfortunately, it doesn't force capital letters like in word yet...)

Anyone?

just to put it out there, i was standing next to the tan today and the hawks all ran past (including who i think was cyril rioili) and they are looking pretty fit...

Is Cyril Rioli not doing the Kokoda Trail?

Or is that later in the week?

One thing on Beama - bumped into him in Barcelona during... late Sept i think, a few days before the whole nath carroll/ brock/ rivers saga and he said he's feeling better than he has for a few years.

Look for a great season from this guy.

actually 2 more things - he's one of the best blokes i've met, AFL but otherwise also. But not always the smartest - managed to have his camera, wallet and watch pinched whilst he had a nanna nap on the beach that night before we went out tot he club.

But a really good bloke nonetheless

Yup ... and there it is. http://www.melbournefc.com.au/Default.aspx...mp;newsId=53917 not holding footballs though, but with arms folded is the second choice....

After five consecutive defeats, the Demons have now notched up back-to-back victories, comfortably accounting for the Tigers in the traditional ANZAC Eve clash. They surged to a commanding 44-point lead early in the final quarter before easing off the pedal, resting skipper Max Gawn and conceding the last four goals of the game to close out a solid 20-point win.

  • PREVIEW: Richmond

A few years ago, the Melbourne Football Club produced a documentary about the decade in which it rose from its dystopic purgatory of regular thrashings to the euphoria of a premiership victory. That entire period could have been compressed in a fast motion version of the 2025 season to date as the Demons went from embarrassing basket case to glorious winner in an unexpected victory over the Dockers last Saturday. They transformed in a single week from a team that put in a pedestrian effort of predictably kicking the ball long down the line into attack that made a very ordinary Bombers outfit look like worldbeaters into a slick, fast moving side with urgency and a willingness to handball and create play with shorter kicks and by changing angles to generate an element of chaos that yielded six goals in each of the opening quarters against Freo.
