Gunners put Spurs away...You beauty second on the table.

2 Goals in 49 seconds had the Totters in Tatters!!!

Superb result.....3-0

Should have been 5-0, they were so dominant.

Fabregas`goal is one of the greatest individual goals you`ll ever see. Breathtaking!

Both Harry and Keane started yapping earlier in the week...Spurs have a better squad/Arsenal won't win the League etc....

Keane substituted...again....Bentley non existent...

But Hell Bent is right...should have been 5-0...Eduardo one on one with Gomes shot wide.....

Keep trying Spurs...

Don't get me started again on Keane.

Bentley had a 'mare...or is just no good...

I missed the Fulham v Liverpool game, was Torres substituted (at 1-1) because he needed a spell or because Benitez got ahead of himself? I know Torress has a bit of an injury cloud but Liverpool make me laugh. They manage a win against the mighty Red Devils then follow it up with a loss to Terry McCann's lot lol. Liverpool truely are a joke.

Liverpool have certainly lost the plot since about midway through last season.

Found this, similar to how the Dees have made me feel in the past - though perhaps a little extreme! Good for a laugh though.

A horrible mix up at the back has cost Bolton their momentum - keeper came out to take a long ball but Ricketts went back to head it to him, result: a 20 metre header into an empty net and a two nil Blackburn lead

Just finished watching the most OUTRAGEOUS display I've ever seen - and it was my team doing it!

9-1!

Nine - One. And even their goal was from a handball.

Defoe 3 in 6 minutes (fastest in premier league history), 5 for the match (sorry, 5 for the HALF), spurs 8 goals in the second half. There were 5 goals in 12 minutes, 6 in 18. Lennon 3 assists and a goal.

WOOOOOOWW.

Our biggest win in the top flight, the first time a team has hit 9 in 14 years, Wigan's worst league defeat,

Was incredibly entertaining watching that absolute destruction.

Comical.

Any chance your side will call for a re- match?

Defoe would be a dangerous FP in AFL. Knows where the goals are

  • Author

I don't think we'll be calling for that

Outrageously good finisher is Defoe. Surprised nothing has been said about the Henry situation. Emotion aside, I simply can't see how it can be called "cheating." Any foul would then have to be called cheating - it is not because if it it heinous enough it is given a card. If Henry's had been seend it would have been a card (yellow?). It is poor officiating and again highlights the need for tv replays. The restart in football takes about 1 minute - a video replay would take 8 seconds to watch and then the result radio'd through.

It's too big a sport with often too much at stake for these decisions to be missed.

What annoyed me about it, however, was that he celebrated the goal feverishly. I don't think that was right. He has now come out and said that he contemplated retirement. Phrased like that it makes it sound like it was years ago and he's really had to come to terms with it.

Did I hear right. Wigan are going to pay back money to the supporters who went along ?

Chelsea Chelsea Chelsea Chelsea Chelsea Chelsea WE LOVE YOU OU OU.....

3-0 OVER GOONERS AT EMIRATES is a pretty handy taste of pre xmas success. 5 points clear at the TOP!!

as for the other results Bolton and Fulham share the points.

Liverpool over Everton 2-0.

Spurs 1-1 against Villa.

City 7th straight draw = hopeless

Pompey 1 Man U 4

Seriously, I felt bad for Ireland after the result, but am decidedly over the whole thing now.

omg defoe

cost us 2 points

should have scored 3

also fellaini and neill should ahve been sent off. fellaini is a disgrace

Defoe falters under pressure on the penalty spot.

Its happened before.

A shame Keane wasn't on the pitch.

Can't believe we're not 3-4 up.

Cue equaliser?

Defoe! Quality strike, has had a bit of a rotten day. Followed up a cracking strike with an even more blistering finish.

Did you see Fabregas? The bloke is a genius! Just hope he hasn`t stuffed his hammy in the process!

When he came on he changed the game completely...fingers crossed he's not out for too long...beat Portsmouth and the game in hand against Bolton and The Arsenal are only one point behind Chelsea...not bad considering they were 11 points behind Chelsea just on a month ago..a long way to go but with the African Nations cup taking away Drogba from Chelsea for a month then the title race is as open as it's been for a long time

Did you see Fabregas? The bloke is a genius! Just hope he hasn`t stuffed his hammy in the process!

I saw the news Highlights, that's all. But they sure rocked!! No wonder these guys are transferred for millions!

There was a time during the current Melbourne cycle that goes back to before the premiership when the club was the toughest to beat in the fourth quarter. The Demons were not only hard to beat at any time but it was virtually impossible to get the better them when scores were close at three quarter time. It was only three or four years ago but they were fit, strong and resilient in body and mind. Sadly, those days are over. This has been the case since the club fell off its pedestal about 12 months ago after it beat Geelong and then lost to Carlton. In both instances, Melbourne put together strong, stirring final quarters, one that resulted in victory, the other, in defeat. Since then, the drop off has been dramatic to the point where it can neither pull off victory in close matches, nor can it even go down in defeat  gallantly.

  • CASEY: Footscray

At twenty-four minutes into the third term of the game between the Casey Demons and Footscray VFL at Whitten Oval, the visitors were coasting. They were winning all over the ground, had the ascendancy in the ruck battles and held a 26 point lead on a day perfect for football. What could go wrong? Everything. The Bulldogs moved into overdrive in the last five minutes of the term and booted three straight goals to reduce the margin to a highly retrievable eight points at the last break. Bouyed by that effort, their confidence was on a high level during the interval and they ran all over the despondent Demons and kicked another five goals to lead by a comfortable margin of four goals deep into the final term before Paddy Cross kicked a couple of too late goals for a despondent Casey. A testament to their lack of pressure in the latter stages of the game was the fact that Footscray’s last ten scoring shots were nine goals and one rushed behind. Things might have been different for the Demons who went into the game after last week’s bye with 12 AFL listed players. Blake Howes was held over for the AFL game but two others, Jack Billings and Taj Woewodin (not officially listed as injured) were also missing and they could have been handy at the end. Another mystery of the current VFL system.

  • PREGAME: Brisbane

The Demons head back out on the road in Round 10 when they travel to Queensland to take on the reigning Premiers and the top of the table Lions who look very formidable. Can the Dees cause a massive upset? Who comes in and who goes out?

Wayward kicking for goal, dump kicks inside 50 and some baffling umpiring all contributed to the Dees not getting out to an an early lead that may have impacted the result. At the end of the day the Demons were just not good enough and let the Hawks run away with their first win against the Demons in 7 years.
