The 2026 Talent League season got underway over the weekend, as a bunch of top prospects showed out across the six games.

The top performers for this week are Arki Butler (Sandringham Dragons) and Wil Malady (Gippsland Power). Weโ€™re going to see a lot more of these lads in the coming weeks, months and years.

Gus Kennedy. Captain this year of the Dandenong Stingrays. Best on ground v Geelong last week. Kennedy is a classic ball running mid who can play inside or outside. Reminds me a little of Angus Brayshaw as a junior. Heโ€™d be perfect into our young midfield alongside Windsor, Langford & Kozzzzy.

The text messages started flooding in shortly after quarter time. One read: โ€œIs Melbourne even at the ground?โ€ Moments later, as Carltonโ€™s Elijah Hollands kicked the first goal of the second term, the Blues held a commanding 43-point lead. By then, the Demonsโ€™ only score was a behind kicked by Brody Mihocek nearly five minutes into the game. Ironically, Mihocek would also register the last minor score of the day after the game took a dramatic turnaround.ย
