What We Are Competing Against

Featured Replies

I did a quick AI search on 'minnows', and I believe this description may be apt:

A minnow is a small, freshwater fish belonging to the Cyprinidae family, often used as bait and known for schooling behavior in rivers, lakes, and streams. Typically under 4 inches long, these fish feed on insects and crustaceans. They are not a single species, but a broad group of over 3,000 species related to carp and goldfish.

That's not to say we can't do good things this year, or into the future. But when we look at the investment portfolios of even the straggler interstate combos we can see what we are up against:

Weird… I always thought it was a boat that went out on a three hour cruise, never to return, all on board assumed to have perished.

Incorrect, Thurston Howell III spotted on Level 2 of the MCC reserve last year.

  • PREVIEW: Essendon

Not long ago, the narrative surrounding Melbourne was steeped in pessimism. There was some concern among the pundits (and even some fans) that the club would arrive at the AFL’s Gather Round still winless, vulnerable to a familiar adversary in the Essendon Football Club, and facing significant scrutiny from an ever-critical media on a national stage. Things have changed.

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

Steven King astutely identified the issues that had plagued the Melbourne Football Club over the past two and a half seasons when he auditioned for the newly created coaching role. The side that had claimed the 2021 premiership had become stodgy, slow-paced, and hesitant to take the initiative.
