Top 3 picks (as long as Carlton win another game)

1 - Matthew Kreuzer (Richmond)

2 - Trent Cotchin (Carlton)

3 - Rhys Palmer (Melbourne)

Trust me, we get the best of the bunch. Palmer is a freak and exactly what we need, a goal kicking midfielder with sublime speed. He is Akermanis-like

Palmer won't go at 3.

Given how we have performed this year, i wouldn't expect us to win many more games this season.

Kreuzer and Cotchin are the 2 gems of the draft. There is no way that Kreuzer will drop to number 2 in the draft. If we were to finish 2nd last, no doubt we will pick up Cotchin, he is too good to overlook. If we were to finish 3rd last, there would be a number of possible players we could pick.

The top 2 is Kreuzer > kilometres > Cotchin > Miles

Cotchin ain't afraid to go in and get the ball himself, would add class to our midfield, and pace to boot.

We could possibly trade 1 of TJ, Green or Bruce and get a decent pick for them (1st rounder). If we were to get a PP as well, we could have picks 2-3, 10-15, 18 PP, 20-21.

The draft doesn't have great depth this year, but there will still be some good players left at 2nd and 3rd rounds of the draft. With some players dropping down the order, we could pick up quite a few youngsters with a decent future ahead of them. This would further complement our developing group of talented youngsters that could bring the MFC it's first premiership in decades, as well as kick-starting our re-building phase (however big or small).

I would love to get hold of 4 or 5 picks in the top 20 a la the hawks from a few years back

It would be beautiful

Id bow down to the new coach of the MFC if he traded Cameron Bruce for a top 5 pick

Today's ABC telecast of the VFL game from Tasmania sees an exciting prospect in Tom Collier at CHB for Tassie.

Collier is a real gem, is Bellchambers playing as well?

pick 10 - 12 would more than satisfy me.

i know this sounds weak but i honestly would prefer us to get a priority pick this year (i.e. lose basically all the rest of our remaining games) rather than win 5 and let carlton get pick 1,3 and 18.

how great would it be to trade one of bruce or green for pick 8-14 and have pick 2,8,18,20. that would set us up majorly for years to come.

If we pick the right players.

AA team:

Chris Masten, Rhys Palmer, Daniel Rich, Patrick McGinnity, David Myers, Alex Rance, Cale Morton, Nicholas Naitanui (WA), Brad Ebert (SA), Nick Suban, Scott Selwood, Ben McEvoy (Victoria Country), Matthew Kreuzer, Adam Maric, Michael Hurley, Jack Grimes (Victoria Metro), Craig Bird, Taylor Walker (NSW-ACT), Aaron Joseph, Tom Collier, Aaron Cornelius (Tasmania), Cyril Rioli (Northern Territory)

Morton won the Larke medal

My guess at a top 5 is:

Kruezer

Cotchin

Morton

Ebert

McEvoy

I will be watching both palmer and masten live today when they play for east fremantle against the mighty east perth royals, will be good to see them plus woewodin. anyways Go Royals.

I like players that have played league footy either at WAFL, SANFL or VFL level. How are te mighty Perth Demons going, down the bottom I expect. It's amazing that the Perth Demons and Melbourne Demons dominated through the 50's and 60's but have struggled since.

The Norwood Redlegs is SA aren't travelling all that well either for that matter.

Palmer and Masten played really good in the first half, Not shown enough respect. Woewodin was abusing the royals supporters which was quite funny and then the mighty royals lead by Byrnes, Webster, Cowell and Hancock come back from 50 points down to win by 10. at the end of the game woey had to be dragged away by teammates for wanting to fight royals supporters.

Trent Cotchin kicked three goals and was named among the best for Penleigh Essendon Grammar School in its five goal win against Parade College. PEGS have made the grand final of the Herald Sun shield and they play St. Josephs College as a curtain raiser to Carlton v Collingwood on Saturday week.

I dont understand why people think that any of these players will go for a # 1 pick. It astonishes me some of your thoughts. I recon we could trade them for a round 3. I think Kruizer is what we need. It isnt often a ruckman shines so much before they have started playing in the AFL. Selwood is said to be the best of the bunch.

Richmond need a ruckman and kruizer will be it unfortunatly.

A club on the verge of success, say Hawthorn, Kangas or Geelong would pay a fair bit for a quality established player.

We wouldn't trade these players for a third rounder, as they will commend a far higher price.

I'm sure a new coach will look to trade at least one of Bruce, Green or TJ. Hopefully he looks at their age, respective skills, leadership qualities and market value and chooses the right player to off-load.

We really need to start investing heavily in more quality youngsters so that our side can grow together and form a strong team in a number of years. By then, most of our senior players will be gone, or on the verge of retirement.

For the same reason that Ottens went for 2 first rounders, and why Tarrant went for a 1st rounder + Medhurst in a very strong draft.

Don't forget that this draft has less depth compared to previous years. Bruce would command the highest price, followed by TJ then Green. Which is fine by me, as i think of the 3, Green should stay at the club, unless a really good deal was to arise.

And as Jaded said, a team seemingly on the verge of success would pay a high price for the likes of Bruce.

anyone who thinks we wont get a 1st rounder for bruce if he's traded has obviously never followed a trading week before. rediculous

I could agree with you more. I would love the club to trade TJ + Bruce + Green + Miller and see Holland + Pickett retire. We need to build a team with youngsters but it is also imperitive that we have some players with experience to lead the club. I think McDonnald could be that person in the midfield, Whelan, Biz, Brown for defence and Robbo and Neitz up forward. But I dont see how people think any of Bruce, Tj etc will generate a 1st rounder. I just dont see it happening. But hey im in favour of trading thoes 4 players i said in the first sentance. TJ is my fav player but i think even a 3rd rounder could be better than him. As for bruce, he was picked at 60 something and would be a superbe footballer but his kicking lets him down, a good reason why he wont go for 1st rounder. Green is a good player too and prob agree he should be the one kept of the bunch but then again a good deal means we should get him. I think green would get the best pick of the bunch. I would laugh if we got a pick for Miller...even if its 80 something lets take it

The Demons’ aggressive small forward who kicks goals and defends the Demons’ ball in the forward arc.
