Another article in the Herald Sun linking us to him

Melbourne and Essendon circling SA draft bolter Sam Cumming with top 10 picks

Melbourne and Essendon are circling a draft bolter who has played footy for teams in New South Wales, Victoria and South Australia in a juggling act that has rocketed him into the top 10 mix.

He's hardly a draft bolter...

It’s a no from me.

No reason to punt on an interstater in this drafting.

What ever wish is on your list can be found close to home.

His family lives in Mildura. Don't worry bluey, we're all proud Victorians and he doesn't have any 'go home factor' about him.

All the people from Mildura follow Victorian teams, very rare for anyone to follow a NSW or SA team. We just more frequently travel across to Adelaide to watch the footy as the drive is two hours less. I'm an MCC member but have probably seen the dees twice at the G over the last 3 years where as I haven't missed us as Adelaide Oval.

The advantage of Melbourne however is the direct flights in however that's getting pricier and pricier.

But back on point, he's definitely not what I'd classify an interstater.

He’s from Wentworth

If he was from Mildura would you say the same?

Pretty much the same place

Geographically rpfc - you're correct - however we don't really refer to them northerners as being from the same place.

Wentworth/Dareton area..... well..... she's pretty rough there.

He is the next best Mid/Forward after Robey. He will be in our sights for this reason alone I think.

Landing a gamer ala James Jordon would not be a bad outcome in a middling draft, he landed 3rd in their BnF anyway.

You're only as strong as your weakest link as they say.

New Cumming footage just dropped

Positives: Work rate, competitiveness, physicality and athleticism

Negatives: Kicks the pill like Fraser Rosman

Cumming has way more X-factor than Sparrow & Jordan - this game playing exclusively as a forward showcases what the damage he can do forward of the ball Sam Cumming - SANFL U18s Round 7.

Cumming has all the tools of a prototype modern day midfielder with no clear-cut deficiencies in his game, but his kicking and decision making under pressure would be his greatest area of development to take his game to the next level.

One more thing to add something that goes under the radar with Cumming is he is a very reliable shot on goal and has range from outside 50.

Would be a good get at what will be our pick 10. Solid midfielder that knows how to get the pill. Needs to clean up his disposal but plenty of times still is able to find the loose team mate.

honestly i'm not supper excited by him, i think he doesnt have a heap of scope for improvement and has probabky bullied some smaller players at stoppages across this year a little too much, prefer sharp or farrow i think they have more traits that would translate

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
