NON-MFC: Trade Week

I believe so.

They also knocked back 3 First Round picks from Geelong.

That was a rubbish offer, not even worthy of Carlton contemplating. This years first round pick is a late pick and 2026 and 2027 likely to be quite late picks and the 2027 draft will be dominated by a swathe of picks for the Tasmania Devils.

The Swans offer is getting closer to reality. No giving of pick 22 to the Swans I say though 💪

So clubs want to trade in elite level players but give up nothing.

Is it just me, or is this offer that Carlton have rejected WAY better than what we are likely to get for Trac? Maybe Curnow has more value... but similar age to Trac. Has won Coleman medals but not a Norm Smith. Has had more injury issues and consistency issues than Trac but is a key forward which there are less of than midfielders.

If this was offered for Trac, we would take it no?

A first round selection next year (even end of first round) is likely to net a better player than pick 7 this year?

North want 2 first rounders for Sympkin who can't get a game in their midfield

I'm surprised the Pies would offer 1 first rounder for him

Why would Carlton do this? It seems like really bad deal to move up one pick?

Am I missing something lol?

  • PREVIEW: Gold Coast

Melbourne’s slow starts have been a troubling theme for a while. Against the Suns, they started slowly in both of their games, they trailed by 5.7.37 to 0.1.1 at quarter time at Peoples First Stadium in Round 16. This season, the story has remained the same and if the Demons fail to shake off this issue against the unbeaten Gold Coast Suns, they will be in serious danger of capitulating once again in their Easter Sunday showdown.

  • REPORT: Carlton

The text messages started flooding in shortly after quarter time. One read: “Is Melbourne even at the ground?” Moments later, as Carlton’s Elijah Hollands kicked the first goal of the second term, the Blues held a commanding 43-point lead. By then, the Demons’ only score was a behind kicked by Brody Mihocek nearly five minutes into the game. Ironically, Mihocek would also register the last minor score of the day after the game took a dramatic turnaround.
