Coz he is a bona fide champion of the game and should NOT agree to a 700 grand reduction, club signed him up and now wants to renege in a terrible look under a new ( Un tried ) coach, I just watched for the first time since getting back from Overseas his last game v Filth, how he didn't get 3 Brownlow votes escapes me! The club needs to get this right. All you posters that have him in the gun HANG your heads in shame.. One of the greatest Dees EVER,.. PITY King, Lamb and co won't back him in for another season. Under a new regime! Says a lot about loyalty, and more about everything else!!

did you watch him all year ? he's a shadow of the player he was. his last 2 years are hardly a $700k player.

Still better than Viney and Sparrow !!

So Oliver has refused to play in positions as specified by the coach, sounds like a complete smug mug to me.

Hopefully I have seen the last of him

Thinking

If $700K a year ends up being more than a potential new club pays him, and by some miracle the game reverts to inside contested footy and he wins a brownlow, does that mean we can put him down as an MFC brownlow?

Kossie does more damage as a forward than as a midfielder until he is taught the craft, and I'm not sure that even then, if Oliver goes to another club and they develop him with more skill and running patterns, he will just stay at the same level. Goodwin has a lot to answer for there. This is going to be an interesting year.

Gees did you watch 2025? There were numerous times when Kozzi was the best for us in the middle, speed, break away, disposal, linking up .

was the only good thing we had for a while there.. hence why he got midfield time over trac and co

issue is hes our best midfielder and our best forward😥

Exactly and tbh maybe im a realist but I was far more worried about Kozi leaving (and Langford in the future) than the remnants of 2021 even if we must acknowledge what they did to get us to that glory.

Pickett get a grip.

They know he can play.

There is a reason they are moving him on and it’s not money.

You must know that.

Our desires to keep Clarry are commendable, but we don’t live inside the bubble.

This has been coming for a few years.

We need to change or have the same result again and then suffer more pain.

Let me say this,

It’s a coaches entitlement to move his chess pieces around the field, like Napoleon.

Probably one of the most correct and relevant posts ever offered on Dland.

The simple matter of the fact.

Translates to Dog wags tail.

There is a common factor to those being nudged to the 🚪 or those opening by themselves.

Not hard to pick if you take a few steps back and just open the eyes.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Essendon

It’s Pink Lady night at Princes Park — a vibey Friday evening setting for a high-stakes clash between second-placed Melbourne and eleventh-placed Essendon. The wind-sheltered IKON Park, a favourite ground of the Demon players, promises flair, fire and a touch of pink. Melbourne has never lost a home-and-away game here, though the ghosts of two straight-sets finals exits in 2023 still linger.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: # 1 Steven May

The premiership defender has shown signs of wear and tear due to age, and his 2025 season was inconsistent, ending poorly with a suspension and a noticeable decline in performance. The Demons are eager to integrate younger players onto their list and have indicated that they may not be able to guarantee him senior games next season, in what would be the final year of his contract.

The young key tall failed to make progress during the season, with a decline in his goal kicking output. His secondary role as a backup ruckman, which may have hindered his ability to further develop his game, and he was also impacted by the team's poor forward connection. It will be interesting to observe his performance under a new coaching regime.

Salem proved to be a valuable contributor as a reliable and solid one-on-one medium-sized defender in what was undoubtedly his most impressive season since the premiership year. He remains a highly capable rebounding option for the Demons as he approaches his 200th game at the club.
