TAYLA HARRIS - a star on and off field

Troy and Harper Buntine's chance meeting with Tayla Harris has built an amazing bond through football

I think this is why the AFLW is growing in popularity and support.

The players ability to connect with the public and especially young girls will hopefully see it rise and rise in the future

And our Tayla Harris continues to show that she is a star on and off the field.

This is such a lovely story! Sounds like Taylah has gone above and beyond for her young friend Harper and that local club. Glad the MFC has also been supportive of this!

The amount of hate she attracts from the some men is abhorrent. It derives first from her having the gall to be the face of a fledgling league of women athletes, and it worsened with the social media bile she received from these same men for the amazing photo that C7 had on its Twitter.

She has been nothing but an amazing orbital figure that has protected other women in the league and has admirably beared the scars of those toxic meteors.

And I want her to be Demon till she is done.

Completely agree and we'll said @rpfc

Ever since she debuted with us in those initial exhibition games having a long kicking style that brought back memories of Darren Bennett. She has been an amazing focal point for women's footy on and off the field.

How dare she be photographed mid match wearing appropriate footy gear and kicking the footy as hard as she can. Still can't believe the relentless social media abuse she has had to deal with from that photo and audacity of her being a pioneer in the women's game and having a statue built celebrating her status in the women's game.

I know people who have met Taylah through football & they speak highly of her.

She's a credit to herself and we're lucky to have her.

I'm with 'rpfc', would like to see her stay a Demon until she's done.

  • CASEY: Richmond

The winds finally returned to Casey Fields for the Demons’ third home game of the VFL season, and its impact was immediate. After two opening rounds played in uncharacteristically fine conditions, the Anzac Day clash brought back the familiar gusty conditions that have been a feature of the region at this time of the year.
Forced to kick into the breeze first, the slow-starting Demons faced a tricky opening against an enthusiastic young Tigers outfit. Casey responded by turning the contest into a scramble, pressuring Richmond into errors and missed targets. The tactic proved crucial, keeping the game tight for three and a half quarters before the Demons pulled away with the autumn wind at their backs.

  • REPORT: Richmond

It seemed as if the whole purpose of the Anzac Eve clash at the MCG between the Demons and the Tigers was building toward that single, unforgettable moment when Kozzie Pickett soared above Campbell Gray and all but fittingly etched his name onto the face of the 2026 Frank ‘Checker’ Hughes Medal.
