Ben Brown article

Featured Replies

Saw a couple of articles on Ben Brown but most notably on 2021 flag.

Personally he had lost all confidence and forgotten how to play, stripped it back to few key items particularly competing and got some confidence back just in time to help win flag.

He noted how few injuries we had and how fit the team was leading into finals series. Then on the big day, 19 points behind in 3rd quarter and Oliver, Petracca & Jackson unleashed!

Post 2021 his knee realistically gone, so basically it ended up we got him in won flag and he was done. Re culturally he said footy clubs have their challenges and Demons werenโ€™t perfect but not everything bad, also highlighted the impact of losing Brayshaw!

Losing Brayshaw was massive in so many ways, very very big part of the story.

Where are these articles would love to read them.

I agree 100%, it was the glue and brains in the team.

Brayshaw knew where to position himself on the field and particularly supporting the defence! Also glue off the field!

When you see how Pendlebury got the Pies home on Saturday, you realise the impact of missing Brayshaws on field contribution!

One way to fix our so called cultural problems would be to get Ben Brown back to Club in some capacity.

  • CASEY: Richmond

The winds finally returned to Casey Fields for the Demonsโ€™ third home game of the VFL season, and its impact was immediate. After two opening rounds played in uncharacteristically fine conditions, the Anzac Day clash brought back the familiar gusty conditions that have been a feature of the region at this time of the year.
Forced to kick into the breeze first, the slow-starting Demons faced a tricky opening against an enthusiastic young Tigers outfit. Casey responded by turning the contest into a scramble, pressuring Richmond into errors and missed targets. The tactic proved crucial, keeping the game tight for three and a half quarters before the Demons pulled away with the autumn wind at their backs.
