Green bristled in those early-season interviews where he was called an interim president.

Well, if he disagrees with that title, he can demonstrate it in the next few weeks.

needs to be moved on or to the goal kicking coach position, unbelievable how him or someone else hasn’t done that yet. at the end of the day 99% of our loses over the past 4 years are down to goal kicking and poor selection the senior coach is in charge of training and has the final say on thursday afternoons……

Who is running this club?

Where is Brad Green? Writing letters to members through pre season, haven’t heard from him for a while now.

Richardson, Lamb, Goodwin, who is keeping this lot accountable, as what they have put together this year and last on and off the field is pathetic!

I can’t comprehend how the currents in charge can take us forward.

How do we attract players to our club and members with what we are producing.

Change is needed.

The one in the grease-paint with the comically over-sized shoes.

I've resented Trac somewhat for what he did end of last year, and have been hypercritical of his footy since then.

But you need to know when to look in the mirror and realise that you're the problem. Trac needs to be politely asked to sit down in front of the members and asked one question: "what is wrong with the football club?"

Let him talk for as long as it takes, no details spared and use specific examples. And if this is what it takes then after he helps us we will help him find a new club.

Strangely enough though, the off field leadership is not an area of concern for me. Steve Smith returns in September and will be handed the presidency, and at almost the same time Paul Guerra will begin as CEO. Both these people impress me.

It really concerns me...for a start I don't know whether Smith is the man for the job but he is encumbered by a board that has taken us from sweets to boiled lollies.

This is a board most on here were happy to back.

Guerra has zilch AFL football experience.

September means another lost year.

Zero experience for Guerra and off field, the club has been asleep at the wheel ever since Green was brought onto the board.

EGM incoming.

They've been asleep at the wheel since around 2021, got lucky with the flag but all the in fighting around the club has killed it.

...and all the Mr Magoo's around here voted for the status quo...

The letter from Brad Green in November last year talking about the review is just laughable now, “we think we have the list and coaching staff to take us back to finals in 2025” nothing to see here.

But not the Board. They need to put their big-boy pants on, go direct to Goodwin, brush aside his premiership medallions and Malcolm Blight medals, and ask him for a plausible explanation of what is going on and a plausible plan to recover. The CEO and Football Dept have been impotent.

The members had a chance to stir up the club by bringing in some new blood and give the board a bit of a rocket at the last board election, instead they all voted for the status quo.

The board is not running this club two members are and should have been voted out last election

Lack of interest and delusion about where the club sat in the scheme of things have delivered us to a place where it will take years to fix. BLAME THE BOARD and the puppeteers behind them including our sacrificial lamb GREEN!

Club remains a joke so remember the board is the problem and ultimately reponsible

That's all very well, but the rage here against anything to do with the Deemocracy group, and the inherent support for board manipulation to retain the status quo, was palpable. Mostly from the same people whinging about the whole of this season.

So your saying the board is great and shouldn't have been challenged

It’s Pink Lady night at Princes Park — a vibey Friday evening setting for a high-stakes clash between second-placed Melbourne and eleventh-placed Essendon. The wind-sheltered IKON Park, a favourite ground of the Demon players, promises flair, fire and a touch of pink. Melbourne has never lost a home-and-away game here, though the ghosts of two straight-sets finals exits in 2023 still linger.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: # 1 Steven May

The premiership defender has shown signs of wear and tear due to age, and his 2025 season was inconsistent, ending poorly with a suspension and a noticeable decline in performance. The Demons are eager to integrate younger players onto their list and have indicated that they may not be able to guarantee him senior games next season, in what would be the final year of his contract.

The young key tall failed to make progress during the season, with a decline in his goal kicking output. His secondary role as a backup ruckman, which may have hindered his ability to further develop his game, and he was also impacted by the team's poor forward connection. It will be interesting to observe his performance under a new coaching regime.

Salem proved to be a valuable contributor as a reliable and solid one-on-one medium-sized defender in what was undoubtedly his most impressive season since the premiership year. He remains a highly capable rebounding option for the Demons as he approaches his 200th game at the club.
