Very good win although it was disappointing we didn't give them an absolute hiding after that dominant 1st term.

Couple of observations -

Ward - his disposal is crap and I think its a travesty that he gets a game in front of CJ. To his credit though, in the 2nd half he played some good man-on-man footy and didn't turn it over quite so much

Frawley - doesn't offer the team really aything at all at this stage and should be developed at Sandy. He's not up to AFL standard by a long shot. Lost count of the number of times he was run down from behind. He appears slow both in pace and his decision making.

Bruce - Where do I start, the guy is a Flake of the highest order and despite his BOG antics of last week, turns in such a shocking effort today that it boggles the mind. If this guy is made captain in front of McLean I'll be livid.

McLean - a gun pure and simple and so important to the team.

Jones - a future superstar

McDonald - the cosumate pro, very valuable to the team.

Robbo - a star and a showman

Petterd - doesn't have enough penetration in his kicking yet, but looks the goods at AFL level (unlike Frawley at this stage)

Davey - becoming a close runner-up to Bruce in flakiness. Had a down day.

PJ - good luck trying to win your spot back in the team Jamar.

and finally

Wheatley - more of that for the rest of your career please. Played fantastically.

A great win. I reckon we've got a chance at winning the next 2 at least and setting up for a tilt at 8th spot by season's end.

Holland- made rocca look like a clown

That he did....awesome job but lucky not to give away about 4 frees.

The Melbourne Football Club- Proud owners of Collingwood since 2004! :D

There is nothing better than beating those filthy, whingy Pies.

McLean, Bell, Jones, Sylvia, Ricky and Bate. They are the future of this club, and they leave me very very confident of the future.

Brock McLean is just.... words cannot describe his awesomeness!!!

I actually thought Frawley was quite good today, I'm happy for him to stay in the team

Bruce's disposal was absolutely shocking, embarassing. Why the hell would play him forward? I'd trust my grandmother more in front of goal

Bate was terrific, can't see Miller getting that CHF position back any time

Of course Robbo was a star and I love him.

Godfrey's right foot goal was the highlight, can someone please put it on youtube?

I thought Frawley did well and we must persist with him.

It's a shame that Petterd's kicking today was poor, because he does everything else so well.

Jonesy and Brock are the perfect midfield duo. Nothing better than seeing Jonesy dive onto a pack and feed it out to McLean.

But my favourite goal of the day was when Sylvia took them on and kicked it to Bater who kicked the long goal. That was awesome.

people should understand....

Frawley will not be good next season unless he plays this season. tall defenders need experience!

we know he is tall and quick...he will get stronger and make better decisions by playing games!

keep him in the side.

 I'm sure he just made that up.

It's probably true though, if Matthew Lloyd can kick one on his right anything is possible...

Nup! Wrong again Walls, second right footer by Godders this year. Just like the Bozo was wrong when analysing frees against Rocca after the delayed replay. It was obvious in two of the 'contentious' frees against Rocca that he had a fist full of Holland's jumper trying to hold him off when in front, but Walls is blind to the bleeding obvious!

you read my mind waynewussell. maybe its time wallsy hangs up his boots as a commentator cause he is crap a tateer as he was a coach. Why don't you have a crack at it next year. It would be great to have some sensible comments during a match

mclean = Melbourne Football Club

bate was awesome

robbo a star (but it should have been 8 :P )

neitz was influencial

so many good points

we won when we butchered the ball quite a bit

bruce's kicking was poor, green was quietish today but stood up in the last quarter when it was required

ward is still terrible with his kicking

davey had a shocking day with his kicking

but we beat the filth and we can do it again come round 21!

who was on thomas, it was bell wasnt it ?

cos thomas was barely seen

I think Bell was on Didak most of the day and did pretty well on him to. Don't know who was on Thomas. I don't want to sound pedantic, but to the guy who said we need to play Frawley the rest of the season so he's primed for next year, by the same logic do you believe we should play Newton as well?

I think its grossly unfair on Newton that Frawley can get a run in the team when he clearly isn't ready and Newton has been in good form at Sandy and done plenty of development.

Danners baffles me at times.

A couple of Demonland Trackwatchers braved the rain and headed down to Gosch's paddock to bring you their observations from the second day of Preseason training for the 1st to 4th Year players. DITCHA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I attended some of the training today. Richo spoke to me and said not to believe what is in the media, as we will good this year. Jefferson and Kentfield looked big and strong.  Petty was doing all the training. Adams looked like he was in rehab.  KE

2024 Player Reviews: #1 Steven May

It was another strong season from McVee who spent most of his time mainly at half back but he also looked at home on a few occasions when he was moved into the midfield.
