I suspect the number of coached games attributed to Mick is missing a season. Kate Hore debuted in Melbourne’s second AFLW season (2018) so she would be behind Mick. Jane Lange coached the team over in Perth and Shane Sloane coached the side against the Hawks.

?

Still '76'?

Perhaps missing last season's (S9's) 11 games? Melbourne had played 76 games up to end S8.

Does anyone have information on the three players who haven’t signed. Not having Chaplins signature is bit of a concern.

Unfortunately no information, but with the free agency period and trade period closed suspect they have contracts for 2025, but just not officially announced.

Yeah....

that would be because I added 10 to his age.... not games coached...

Fixed again :)

Thanks

Ryleigh Wotherspoon's mother told me she signed a two year contract to the end of 2025 when she was drafted.

Thanks for that!!

Gall has signed to 2026☺️

Just noticed Tahlia Gillard is listed as 24.  I know it can be hard to believe, but she only turned 21 last month!

Think that is age at end of contract?

I don't think so, for example Kate Hore is listed as 29 and that's her current age.

With the maximum list size of 31, is someone to be cut? Anyone know/guess when or who?

Perhaps Aimee Mac on LTI list accounts achieves it?

Believe Aimee has been classified as inactive and can be replaced until she is re activated.

Is the list size now 31? I remember talk of it expanding to 31, was that confirmed? Good news if so.

At current count I have us at 30 players plus Aimee. That 30 includes Beasley though, who I guess is a question mark with her ACL.

Thanks for point that out. I had a couple of the ages incorrect.

Ages are meant to be age at end of contract.

No probs.  But now Banno is over-aged!

I think Beazo will be back next season, but Aimee I think it weighing up her options, and possibly going to be prioritising Gaelic.  I think.

Just been announced Eliza McNamara has signed a contract extension to end 2026, and Maeve Chaplin to end 2027. Both richly deserved after last season!

Not that I was doubting you @Katrina Dee Fan but I think these contract threads are even more helpful when the sources are listed for cross checking: in the AFLM contract thread we had a couple of mistakes because someone had reported it wrong by accident.

Just noticed, RBF: when Ryleigh and Megan play in our next premiership, you're going to have to re-format!

Edited by Timothy Reddan-A'Blew

Gabby Colvin turns 34 in March (according to a google search), so that will her age at end of 2025.

  • NON-MFC: Round 06

The Easter Round kicks off in style with a Thursday night showdown between Brisbane and Collingwood, as both sides look to solidify their spots inside the Top 4 early in the season. Good Friday brings a double-header, with Carlton out to claim consecutive wins when they face the struggling Kangaroos, while later that night the Eagles host the Bombers in Perth, still chasing their first victory of the year. Saturday features another marquee clash as the resurgent Crows look to rebound from back-to-back losses against a formidable GWS outfit. That evening, all eyes will be on Marvel Stadium where Damien Hardwick returns to face his old side—the Tigers—coaching the Suns at a ground he's never hidden his disdain for. Sunday offers two crucial contests where the prize is keeping touch with the Top 8. First, Sydney and Port Adelaide go head-to-head, followed by a fierce battle between the Bulldogs and the Saints. Then, Easter Monday delivers the traditional clash between two bitter rivals, both desperate for a win to stay in touch with the top end of the ladder. Who are you tipping this week and what are the best results for the Demons?

What were they thinking? I mean by “they” the coaching panel and team selectors who chose the team to play against an opponent who, like Melbourne, had made a poor start to the season and who they appeared perfectly capable of beating in what was possibly the last chance to turn the season around. It’s no secret that the Demons’ forward line is totally dysfunctional, having opened the season barely able to average sixty points per game which means there has been no semblance of any system from the team going forward into attack. Nevertheless, on Saturday night at the Adelaide Oval in one of the Gather Round showcase games, Melbourne, with Max Gawn dominating the hit outs against a depleted Essendon ruck resulting from Nick Bryan’s early exit, finished just ahead in clearances won and found itself inside the 50 metre arc 51 times to 43. The end result was a final score that had the Bombers winning 15.6 (96) to 8.9 (57). On balance, one could expect this to result in a two or three goal win, but in this case, it translated into a six and a half goal defeat because they only managed to convert eight times or 11.68% of their entries. The Bombers more than doubled that. On Thursday night at the same ground, the losing team Adelaide managed to score 100 points from almost the same number of times inside 50.
