I don't care that much about the Rising Star Award or who gets the weekly nod.

It's little more than a sideshow for me and certainly nothing to get worked up about.

Coincidentally, the three Melbourne players who won the award all subsequently left our club.

And furthermore the suspension to Reid is a joke that he is ineligible. He is head and shoulders above the others. 

 

This is what really irks me about it. It's not the 'fairest and best', it's the rising star. Suspension should have nothing to do with it.
