SIGH 😞

I’m going to be completely honest, I’m already preparing myself for a finals exit in a prelim.

To have so many injuries in the ONE weakness we have in our team: our FWD line, I just can’t see how we score enough to get to the Granny.

Another [censored] wasted year by injury.

yr doing mfcss wrong; you should be prepping for a semi-final not a prelim exit!

when things are glum there's worse to come

GWS had no Bedford and Daniels that day. Two very important cogs.

There is no way that 2/3rds of the team go missing again next Friday RBM.

Even with 2 to 3 players having an off night we'll win well against the baggers....PROVIDED...

Goodwin reads a bit of a riot act to the bulk of those that didnt show up against the Pies in the review sessions.

Unacceptable peformences from too many on Thurs night.

3 shocking finals performances in a row.

Time for Simon to bring down the hammer!!

I hope you’re right!!

Makes sense to me. It would feel so good sending the baggers home, then giving us a crack at the lions up there.

One step at a time…

Lions are doing all this without Ashcroft. Unlikely we'll have to worry, on Friday Curnow will probably kick more than our entire fwd line. Wont be hard. 8 goals should do it. Posters should stop calling other teams or players chokers.

We're about to go out in straight sets again  4 x MCG finals.

The media will tag us the biggest chokers in recent history.

If Maynard gets off after JVR got 1 week im taking another long break away from AFL. I dont need this corrupt corporate rubbish.

Let’s just see what happens Friday night. We don’t give up, even if we don’t execute we always give amazing effort.

I wouldn’t write this team off.

Bloody hell, I thought the lions port game was today.

Oh well no surprises with the result.

It’s a fair call!

I reckon we’ll get up over Carlton but Brissy up there now seems like a monumental task.

Obviously hope I’m wrong!

A thought for poor Membrey and his family. Sounds like a very sad mental health episode that saw him miss their final.
Wishing him all the very best.

  • REPORT: Brisbane

“Max Gawn has been the heart and soul of the Dees for years now, but this recent recovery from a terrible start has been driven by him. He was everywhere again, and with the game in the balance, he took several key marks to keep the ball in the Dees forward half.” - The Monday Knee Jerk Reaction: Round Ten Of course, it wasn’t the efforts of one man that caused this monumental upset, but rather the work of the coach and his assistants and the other 22 players who took the ground, notably the likes of Jake Melksham, Christian Petracca, Clayton Oliver and Kozzie Pickett but Max has been magnificent in taking ownership of his team and its welfare under the fire of a calamitous 0-5 start to the season. On Sunday, he provided the leadership that was needed to face up to the reigning premier and top of the ladder Brisbane Lions on their home turf and to prevail after a slow start, during which the hosts led by as much as 24 points in the second quarter. Titus O’Reily is normally comedic in his descriptions of the football but this time, he was being deadly serious. The Demons have come from a long way back and, although they still sit in the bottom third of the AFL pack, there’s a light at the end of the tunnel as they look to drive home the momentum inspired in the past four or five weeks by Max the Magnificent who was under such great pressure in those dark, early days of the season.

  • CASEY: Southport

The Southport Sharks came to Casey. They saw and they conquered a team with 16 AFL-listed players who, for the most part, wasted their time on the ground and failed to earn their keep. For the first half, the Sharks were kept in the game by the Demons’ poor use of the football, it’s disposal getting worse the closer the team got to its own goal and moreover, it got worse as the game progressed. Make no mistake, Casey was far and away the better team in the first half, it was winning the ruck duels through Tom Campbell’s solid performance but it was the scoreboard that told the story.

  • PREGAME: Sydney

Just a game and percentage outside the Top 8, the Demons return to Melbourne to face the Sydney Swans at the MCG, with a golden opportunity to build on the momentum from toppling the reigning premiers on their own turf. Who comes in, and who makes way?
