Listen to the other coaches post-season reviews and your head will probably feel just as bad.

He kind of hit the nail on the head, we need to keep improving. we tried to run the 2021 playbook back and refused to budge, and while there were other factors as well, we need to keep evolving to continue to push for more premierships.

i'd imagine in 2023 we will be more daring with our ball movement, look to tidy up our defensive structure to hold up better against teams who run the ball at us, and overall look to get the forward line functioning in a more healthy fashion

Nothing wrong with the defence if the forwards hs it in AND kick goals.

Thete is only so much the defence can do before they are overruns should have won the Brownlow except in a fsir world Petty would have taken votes of him.

Salem and Rivers below potential, add Bowie and there is a clear need for a bigger body.

Otherwise it's ok

It's not post season it's post game and nothing changes.

Listen to Scott,Flea or Horse, even Hardwick and Fagan..they actually engage with the question

Learnings or Leanings? Or  just plain taught a Lesson. On repeat seemingly through a fair bit of the second half of the season.

Given the flaws which manifested we were never truly ‘blown away’. Which suggests if those at the tiller make the right calls and positively address the chinks in the Demon armour. The team can re-energise in the next campaign and renew it’s assault on the competition summit. But as others have already mentioned the successful game plan and personnel of 2021 require a fairly substantial re-think and re-fit.

Congratulations to Geelong and Chris Scott, the old adage ‘try try again to you succeed’ applies. An injection of youth, a renewed game plan, boosting the collective self-belief and modicum of luck etc have paid off big time.

Therein is the model for the way forward,  change and adapt or risk irrelevance. Ideally from the the president and board, football department, recruitment, fitness and conditioning,  coaches and players, right down to the humble  bootstudder.

Given our recent rise from football obscurity. The club now has a wealth of resources, people, experience and talent. To get it right and get back on course.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
