To suggest Howes be promoted & play fwd shows shows the poster clearly doesn't know what he's talking about.

You have the most appropriate pseudonym on DL. 10 out of 10 for self awareness

Re location this weekend...AFL statement on VFL finals implied home grounds, so Casey fields....but don't take that as gospel.

Even think back to this time 2018.

Thought we had a genuine star on our hands.

I remember when we recruited Bbb and I thought it was going to be tough to pick a fwd line from the plethora of options. Hhmmm.

Now we need a another big and tall forward given Tmac' s injuries and inconsistent form which may be injury related.

Came here trying to find out the time of the game - where did they make this statement on VFL finals? Guessing it wasn’t recent?

Why would he think his career is done at 25 and with another year on his contract?

Last week he was outstanding in tough conditions, clearly the best tall KPP on the ground.

I can’t believe the footy club hasn’t already given him a solid block of training & games at CHB.

Bulldogs supporters were saying exactly the same things about Liam Jones and he goes to Carlton and they turn him into an AA CHB.  McCartin looked a million miles off it as a Key Forward at the Saints even when he was actually playing, now he’s in AA discussions as a Key Defender.

Weideman is such a really good person and the Club invested so much with an early Pick, I believe it is crazy not to try everything to give him a chance at success.

When we drafted Weed a recruiter at another club mention to me he thought weed would make a fantastic CHB

You appear to have as much trouble with comprehension as you do with anger management Cranky.

The poster wasn't advocating Howes be promoted and wasn't talking up his talents.  He was simply saying that it wouldn't hurt to try young players in different positions at Casey to see how they go.

I don't understand why anybody would have a problem with that suggestion.

Anger management - why I'm the most even tempered poster on Demonland.

On re reading Paulos comment I do concede that I was wrong and he was not suggesting Howes be promoted.

Without being unkind Weideman is probably untradeable. He struggles to get a possession at AFL level. Missed the boat with Collingwood.

But Weideman did want to stay with us. 2 year extension was one too many. Likely he'll remain with the dees next year.

Backup ruckman at this stage

Silly comment of the week award. Another Demonlander creaming his pants over Howes who hasn't actually done anything yet.

I think you just won your own award

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
