43# Andy Moniz-Wakefield - Progressing nicely in the VFL might need to get a bit more of the football.

42# Judd McVee - Struggling to get a lot of the ball. Needs time.

41# Fraser Rosman - Improving slowly since he's gone down back.

40# Blake Howes - Looked promising early a foot injury has hampered his progress.

39# Deakyn Smith - Progressing steadily down back.

38# Daniel Turner - Injured early has come back and looked impressive in the VFL.

37# Taj Woewodin - Has shown good signs on the wing.

36# Oskar Baker - Good form in the VFL but doesn't look like he has the abiltiy to turn that into good AFL form.

35# Majak Daw - Been solid in the ruck for Casey. You know what you get with Majak.

34# Jacob van Rooyen - Has shown promising signs in the VFL with a 6 goal haul against North.

33# Bailey Laurie - Shown promising signs in the VFL and been close to selection

32# Kade Chandler - Hasn't had a real run at it this year the suspension cost him dearly.

31# Jake Melksham - Cooked at AFL level but trying had at VFL level.

30# Michael Hibberd - Been injured for most of the year. Starting to find some form at VFL level.

29# Adam Tomlinson - Good form in the VFL but it's not transforming to good AFL form.

28# Mitch Brown - Excellent form at VFL level. Worth persisting with at AFL level

27# Sam Weideman - Good VFL form not turning into good AFL form like Tomlinson.

26# Joel.Smith - Was really starting to find his feet at AFL level until he done his ankle. Injury prone.

25# Luke Dunstan - Been a disappointing recruit. Accumulator but doesn't hurt the opposition.

24# Jayden Hunt - Been really poor the last month. Needs to find some form. Doing the small forward lockdown role.

23# Trent Rivers - Disappointing year not up to the lofty heights from his premiership year.

22# Ben Brown - Disappointing year. Last month has been putrid, needs to find some form.

21# Toby Bedford - The super sub. Showed promisng form has pace to burn and could be dangerous in tandem with Spargo and Pickett.

20# Tom Sparrow - Struggled of late needs to find consistantcy.

19# James Harmes - Been ok but needs to find a bit more of the ball.

18# Christian Salem - Been injured most of the year. Showed good signs against Sydney

16# Jake Bowey - Early in the year he was a rising star favorite struggled a little bit of late.

15# Harison Petty - Missed the whole pre season starting to play some good footy.

14# Alex Neal-Bullen - Not hitting the scoreboard but still playing his role.

13# Charlie Spargo - Similar to Neal-Bullen.

12# Tom McDonald - Strugled early but really started to hit his straps before he got injured.

11# Kysiah Pickett - Electrifying at his best the best defensive player in the comp.

10# Jake Lever - Not as good as last year.

9# James Jordon - Revelation on the wing this year.

8# Jack Viney - The heart and soul of the footy club still playing some great footy.

7# Ed Langdon - Best wingman in the comp.

6# Bailey Fritsch - Our only consistant forward.

5 Christian Petracca - Controversial most people would have him in the best 2 or 3 but I don't think he has had as good a year as he did last year.

4 Angus Brayshaw - Has been a revelation down back in All Australian form.

3 Steven May - Showed his importance with his absence. The rock of the back line.

2 Clayton Oliver - Never puts in a bad game.

1 Max Gawn - The best player in the league.

Pretty fair positioning for Trac. His first two weeks were sublimely explosive but a possible knee injury and/or other niggles and illness have certainly taken away a lot of his power and explosiveness.  Seems to have tied himself in some psychological knots around his set shot goal kicking too. Hoping the bye freshens him up for a strong 2nd half of the season.

Lets cut to the chase, Trac is out of form or injured. Watch his game Saturday night, he fumbled the ball more than anyone on the ground and that is a sign that his touch is just not there. Its actually symptomatic across the team, key players are desperately out of touch.

Ben Brown - cant get near it, when he does, missing easy shots, some not making the distance.

Lever - exposed badly without May and not the intercept player he was last year.

Jacko - Just going to be honest.

I think you’re harsh on Tomlinson. And I think Mitch Brown has shown on Saturday what he showed us in a game or two last year – that is, he’s just not up to AFL. He gets brushed aside too easily and has no presence in a pack.

GATOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS There were 5 in the main rehab group, namely Gawn, Petracca, Fullarton, Woewodin and Lever.  Laurie was running laps by himself, as was Jefferson.  Chandler, as has been reported, had his arm in a sling.  Lindsay did a bit of lap running later on. Some of the ''rehab 5'' participated in non contact drills and b

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

    TRAINING: Monday 16th December 2024

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov
