Noticed there wasn't a thread, and seems like he might go somewhere around our first pick so could be interesting.

Jesse Motlop

Forward
177cm/77kg

South Fremantle/Western Australia

The small forward had good experience at senior level this year with South Fremantle, including playing in its WAFL Grand Final loss. He booted nine goals from eight league games and showed his spark as a creative finisher. Motlop is a bubbly, bright personality who is a member of Fremantle's Next Generation Academy, but the Dockers will only get priority access on him after pick 40 under the metropolitan NGA rules. Motlop is the son of former Kangaroo and Power forward Daniel.

Where does he go? The Giants have spent time on him and Motlop could be an option for them at No.15 if they don't go with Josh Rachele at pick No.2. Fremantle could look at No.19 to remove any doubt and North Melbourne has been linked at No.20 as the Roos look for a small forward, but there is also a chance he gets through the next batch of picks and is available in the 30s.

Interesting prospect.

But, I'm guessing we have the small fwd position covered with Premiership Players: Spargo and Kozzie and then there is Bedford and Chandler (who will be promoted to the seniors next year).  All very young still.

I would think there other positions that need high end, young players coming in.

If there was consideration for him to move into a midfield role (or shift Kozzie to be an outside mid on rotation) perhaps he could be an option.

Best available will surely be the go when pick 17 comes so if he’s best available, sounds like he’s a good prospect.

Interesting view but does Goodwin even do outside midfielder? Langdon is probably our closest. All our line breakers can win their own ball. Salem, Rivers, Hunt, etc.

I suspect that many more of our mids and smalls play more outside now than they did. ANB is the best example of growth this season that he starred in the GF and was a revelation on the ball with  his outside run ball movement and excellent defensive skills esp. his tackling.

Dr D you would ( like us) be very proud of his play and his great leadership as well.
