  1. 1. Hypothetically, we lose the Prelim. You've got angry, you've got sad, you've blamed Tmac and Spargo, and perhaps the umpires and coach....Time has passed - in the cold harsh light of objectivity - will you be satisfied with the Season of 2021

That wasn’t the OP’s question. The question is will you be satisfied if we go down in the prelim? You oughtn’t begrudge someone the joy of the incredible journey this season’s been despite not winning the flag.

Many fail, because of the preparation. Habits take alot of time to perfect. Habits lead to addiction and addictions can destroy us, by creating dysfunction and prioritising some behaviours that interfere with things we should be doing.

I would also suggest that high flyers have difficulty adjusting once the razzle dazzle subsides. They were driven to attaining one type of thing and forgot to gain wisdom on how to live contently.

Prepare yourself to deal with failure.

I have had to do that many times already.
has never sat well with me.
Do you think i will be satisfied if Jeelong run out on GF Day?

No i will not.
I find it quite amazing that someone would post on a supporters website with your attitude.
we have seen everybody else win 🏆

I have had a gutfull

@adonski,you offer a vomit emoji for my opinion. Why so hard on me, because I (or a team I support) don't need to be first

Of course not. However, you could be a good sportsman and applaud that achievement.

In the least, you should be adjusted enough so that it doesn’t cause you grief.

You also want others to think like you. You give no room for some who don’t need to win everything to be satisfied, as shown by your vomit emoji to me.

Don't take it so seriously kev.

You're probably just a nicer person than I am..

What!

I am a supporter no matter how much you want the MFC to yourself and others like you.

I like my attitude and will defend it. I am free, happy and live comfortably. My attitude has been a major part in creating that for myself.

I don’t "need" to have high achievements in my life to be happy.

See what that demand and expectation is doing to you.

Suggesting I shouldn't post, wow!

Nah, I am as reactive to pressure as the next person.

I believe we are equal, no better or worse than each other.

There for the sake of grace go I.

Personally I feel sorry for those who will only be satisfied/happy/whatever if we win the big one. Enjoy the ride is what I say. Regardless of the destination, ie., flag or no flag, getting there is always more than half the fun.

Are you old enough to have enjoyed the '64 flag?

Maybe you should barrack for the Gold Coast Kev

Average is as high as they can aspire

No one really cares whether they live or die. They exist

I am amazed that some supporters aren't interested in watching a grandfinal that doesn't include MFC or has old enemies playing.

You will be missing out on some good theatre.

I guess it takes all types.

Nah, I value loyalty.

I enjoy going to the G on a regular basis.

Bit hard on the Suns supporters aren't you?

You lot cannot pick and choose who supports MFC. Though it seems you want to.

@adonskiand @Cassiew

Is the world safer for you when you believe or make the circle you live in, think alike?

No, I’m not.

I watch the grand final every year regardless. But I’ll be spitting mad seeing Geelong there and would never applaud them. Just like seeing a north there in 1998. That was our grand final and I just know we would have beaten the crows.
I’ll watch but couldn’t enjoy seeing Geelong or anyone else win yet another one when we’ve been waiting longer than all other teams left.

That’s my 5 cents

I have never met a Suns Supporter tbh

Do they exist? It is merely an AFL Tax Loophole really

The MFC Should be looking to fill the Cupboard with new Cups

Close enough is NOT Good enough

Anyone can lose. It’s not difficult at all

I don’t need to have cancer to know I wouldn’t like it.
Anyways, I never claimed to know what winning the flag feels like. What I DO claim to know is how totally wonderful this season has been to date. And indeed, very satisfying.
PS… then I did get cancer and yeah, I was right: it’s not something I like.

There are about 1.5 million registered AFL players this year.

Suns get a handful of them from a draft of around 200.

They haven't lost! Though according to your logic the majority have.

I believe joy is much more about participating than winning.

Winning is overestimated, the fall from the pedestal can be disastrous. Many never get there, though are content. Can't say the same for the overachievers. Most of our ambition in the world is an illusion, and our place is determined more by the socio-demographics your are born into.

Soz for butting in on a private convo but I saw a Suns fan once so I took a blurry pic and sent it to “Paranormal Caught on Camera.” 😝

WTF
I have no idea what any of that means.
Are you on the ‘shrooms Kev?

Lockdown 6…..

Then what's the point?

If you don't care if your team is first why do you support them?

Are you one that thinks participating is all that counts, everyone should get a ribbon even if they finish last?

Lockdown 6…..

2000 players out of 1.5 million get a chance to achieve at the highest level, 50 win a flag together. The rest of us live vicariously through them.

Are you on that mind dulling substance grog?

I don’t care.

I enjoy going and watching the contest, with all the drama and build up, that that entails.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

I suppose that I should apologise for the title of this piece, but the temptation to go with it was far too great. The memory of how North Melbourne tore Melbourne apart at the seams earlier in the season and the way in which it set the scene for the club’s demise so early in the piece has been weighing heavily upon all of us. This game was a must-win from the club’s perspective, and the team’s response was overwhelming. The 36 point win over Alastair Clarkson’s Kangaroos at the MCG on Sunday was indeed — roovenge of the highest order!

  • CASEY: Werribee

The Casey Demons remain in contention for a VFL finals berth following a comprehensive 76-point victory over the Werribee Tigers at Whitten Oval last night. The caveat to the performance is that the once mighty Tigers have been raided of many key players and are now a shadow of the premiership-winning team from last season. The team suffered a blow before the game when veteran Tom McDonald was withdrawn for senior duty to cover for Steven May who is ill.  However, after conceding the first goal of the game, Casey was dominant from ten minutes in until the very end and despite some early errors and inaccuracy, they managed to warm to the task of dismantling the Tigers with precision, particularly after half time when the nominally home side provided them with minimal resistance.
