Brad Green's 150th Game

Featured Replies

I haven't noticed a thread for this particular milestone......

So I would just like to congratulate Brad on reaching his 150th game!!!

I thought he played some great footy and matured quite a bit last year, and while last week wasn't one for the archives,

lets hope that he (among others) will be playing a super game this week to celebrate this particular achievement!!!

Good luck and congratulations Brad :D !!!

Hasn't played a good game in a while? He hasn't played ANY games in a while.

Well done Brad. A deserving leader at MFC. Will go on to establish himself this year.

he stepped up the harder side of things last year to make up for his bad set shoot, but after surgery it looks like it may be back on track, he could be dangerous this year.

he was in the best 3 in our win against the saints in the EF last year. and to me the change in brad green's game was typified by his effort in that game in the last qtr on the souther stand punt road HFF, he put his body on the line when he needed to, and won/nullified the ball.

Congratulations Brad, often you dont get the credits you deserve around here, but still to play 150 games for the club is a fantastic effort.

Good luck on monday and hope the boys put in a big one for you.

Congrats to Greeny, who is one of the best transformed players in our side.

He has really come on since his early days of being a soft-ish forward, and is now a very deserving senior leader.

Hopefully the team can mark the occasion with a big win!

Well done Green on 150 games and Wheatley for getting pf 99 into 100 games :) :)

Hopefully they can well and gain a win on monday when we hopefully smash the hawks, especially brown and crawford

Should be a good year for brad. He put in a pretty good 06, carried a foot injury and played through the pain with pretty good results. We should see some vintage greeny on monday.

The boys should be fired up for him.

Best of luck greeny!

lets hope Brad Green has a big impact on monday!

congratulations on 150 games

Go Greeny, I was harsh on you about 3 years ago but you deserved that reputation you had then, but last season you started to turn over a new leaf. You won a lot of new admirers last season, please don't let it ( your new developing ruggedness) stop there. Keep it growing & the best of wishes for this fantastic milestone, may it lead on toward the holy grail before your days are done...

Monday is gonna be a great game for Green and Wheatly. They r gonna sike up for this game especially green and will led this game from start to finish. I remember the game when Green was Captain and how good he was and i expect to see that on Monday.

Man this is a long week im getting more and more anxious to some football, its school holidays and all im doin is sitting around in my trackie dacks flano and melbourne gurnesy and playing footy on the xbox!! (yes i am a bogan)

Wheatley as well for making it to game 100, and god luck to Green as well, lets tear the hawks up

Congratulations to Paul on reaching his 100th game. Hopefully he will have a great game as well!!!

Keep it growing & the best of wishes for this fantastic milestone, may it lead on toward the holy grail before your days are done...

And a big amen to that :D !!!

Congrats to Brad on 150 games. Was a lively young forward who helped us into our only grand final in a long time, and has now re-invented himself as a reliable half back/midfielder, and decent leader to. Hope he has a great 2007, as he has all the attributes he needs now to take his game another step up and reach All Australian status

well dont to green, was always a good player but was soft and he to his credit has really turned it around and now goes when its his turn and goes hard

well done mate!

congrats to wheats too :)

  • PREVIEW: West Coast Eagles

Saturday’s election night game in Perth between the West Coast Eagles and Melbourne represents 18th vs 15th which makes it a tough decision as to which party to favour. The Eagles have yet to break the ice under their new coach in Andrew McQualter who is the second understudy in a row to confront Demon Coach Simon Goodwin who was also winless until a fortnight ago. On that basis, many punters might be considering to go with the donkey vote but I’ve been assigned with the task of helping readers to come to a considered opinion on this matter of vital importance across the nation. It was almost a year ago that I wrote a preview here of the Demons’ away game against the Eagles (under the name William from Waalitj because it was Indigenous Round).

  • PREGAME: West Coast

The Demons hit the road in Round 8, heading to Perth to face the West Coast Eagles at Optus Stadium. With momentum building, the Dees will be aiming for a third straight victory to keep their season revival on course. Who comes in and who goes out?

  • REPORT: Richmond

The fans who turned up to the MCG for Melbourne’s Anzac Day Eve clash against Richmond would have been disappointed if they turned up to see a great spectacle. As much as this was a night for the 71,635 in attendance to commemorate heroes of the nation’s past wars, it was also a time for the Melbourne Football Club to consolidate upon its first win after a horrific start to the 2025 season. On this basis, despite the fact that it was an uninspiring and dour struggle for most of its 100 minutes, the night will be one for the fans to remember. They certainly got value out of the pre match activity honouring those who fought for their country. The MCG and the lights of the city as backdrop was made for nights such as these and, in my view, we received a more inspirational ceremony of Anzac culture than others both here and elsewhere around the country.

  • CASEY: Richmond

The match up of teams competing in our great Aussie game at its second highest level is a rarity for a work day Thursday morning but the blustery conditions that met the players at a windswept Casey Fields was something far more commonplace. They turned the opening stanza between the Casey Demons and a somewhat depleted Richmond VFL into a mess of fumbling unforced errors, spilt marks and wasted opportunities for both sides but they did set up a significant win for the home team which is exactly what transpired on this Anzac Day round opener. Casey opened up strong against the breeze with the first goal to Aidan Johnson, the Tigers quickly responded and the game degenerated into a defensive slog and the teams were level when the first siren sounded.

  • POSTGAME: Richmond

After five consecutive defeats, the Demons have now notched up back-to-back victories, comfortably accounting for the Tigers in the traditional ANZAC Eve clash. They surged to a commanding 44-point lead early in the final quarter before easing off the pedal, resting skipper Max Gawn and conceding the last four goals of the game to close out a solid 20-point win.
