When belted over the back of the head, so many of the commentators laugh and say "haha made him earn it".

10 minutes earlier the same commentators were extolling the virtues of the league's concerns about concussions.

Fine point you make @bingers. There's some pretty thoughtless commentary out there. AFL is a high velocity sport and collisions are inevitable. However, whacking someone in the back of the head just because they've beaten you in a one-on-one contest is not acceptable.

This change will probably occur eventually at the behest of the AFL but they need to remember that the game belongs to the fans and as such they should be consulted especially because it will change the fabric of the game.

Does the player who broke Naughten's ribs get suspended because he went too hard in the marking contest , Where does it end?

3D computer simulations of sport while we all lie in bed eating chips while watching it.

Apparently eye gouging and opponent under a pack and shin stomping isn’t against the spirit of the game, (or maybe only a little bit against it.).
Apparently wouldn’t put mum off letting her kids play footy anyway.

Good article in the Guardian today about the super grubs Sellwood and Greene.

Their intention was to injure another player, why weren't they suspended?

Comments section is an interesting read as well apart from the [censored] Geelong supporters and the one GWS supporter. (There is only one right?)

It’s Game Day and the Demons have made the long trip west to take on Fremantle tonight at Optus Stadium. Can Melbourne make it two from two to start the season, and what are you hoping to see from the Dees under the lights in Perth?

The dominant storyline coming out of Round One for Saturday Night’s clash at Optus Stadium centres on the influence of the big men. The spotlight naturally falls on two elite ruckmen who, five years ago, shared the stage in Melbourne’s memorable premiership triumph.

The compromised AFL fixture will get another test this week with the first lot of teams getting a bye after only two matches. Despite this Round 2 starts off with two cracking games as the Hawks host the Swans at the G on Thursday Night and then on Friday Night the Crows host the Bulldogs at Adelaide Oval. Who are you tipping this week and what are the best results for the Demons?
