How good is Neville Jetta.

best small defender we've ever had? at least in recent memory - he's ahead of the likes of whelan, yeats, or johnson in terms of 'recent' memory

Nup.

Delist and re-rookie.

Boring game.   Serious lack of superstar talent and personalities.

Remember the 90s when Ablett- Lockett-Dunstall-Lyon were all in the Big V forward line?

Field skills are incredible, seeing this top level of talent on one park is amazing, the AFL should look at this as a concept again.

The tummy taps/giggle fest from the likes of Whitfield and the attempt to manufacture the intensity by the commentators are cringe worthy to say the least.

Who's not playing (with the exception of Dees) that should be playing? Or do you think the current AFL talent doesn't match up to the stars of yesteryear?

When do they play it? Preseason or mid year?

it won't ever happen mid-year again

it's pre-season for charity - like this - or it won't happen

and the goalkicking is appalling - and it was way windier at arden st today

Let’s hope GWS never get a ruckman.

Great goal.

Just how bruise-free is this [censored]?

  • THE STATS FILES: St. Kilda

As part of the effort to trim the runtime of the regular podcast, we’ve been looking at which segments could be reshaped without losing what makes them valuable. One segment that naturally came into focus was Binman’s Stats Files. Not because it isn’t important; quite the opposite. It’s become such a substantial and much-loved part of the show that it deserves a little room to breathe.

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

One of the big stories of the AFL off-season was the spending spree of Melbourne’s Round 1 opponent, St Kilda. They splashed out heavily, first to retain Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera - the hero of last year’s epic come-from-behind miracle victory -turning him into a $2 million man. They then effectively took out an expensive overdraft to recruit a string of expensive players from other clubs. It was a risky investment strategy and, although it’s still early days, it certainly failed to pay off in Sunday’s season opener, with much of the glitter turning to fool’s gold.
