Like Melksham instructing ANB to ‘kick it to me’ during that last shot.

Melksham strikes me as selfish infield; and his instant defence is deplorable.  Takes a mark on the lead only, OK crumber, not super quick, poor defensively.  Us supporters, the club and the footy world judged many players on their strengths and ignore several weaknesses.  With Frost it was the opposite.

Yeah I posted in another thread about that. He's an interesting one is Milkshake, he quite often directs the forward line well but then he has those moments like that one that ruin it a bit.

When I saw it live I thought melk was in the cleare and so anb stuffed up. But his man was near him so stupid to stand there and call for the ball. He should have led into the corridor and pulled his man with him. If the pksyer didnt which wss kikel6 hanb co6ld have hit an easy pass. Instead melk stood ij one spot and waved his arms. Poor.

Think the views on JKH are harsh, seems to be tainted by his poor performances some time back and not his current form. Has had some major injuries but out of the small mids/fwds bunch I’d still have him ahead of Spargo, ANB, Stretch, Garlett, Jones and the Wagners.

On the flip side, Salem’s disposal skills are still viewed as excellent by many, but this year they’ve been mostly poor, probably masked by those around him just being poorer.

Salem's form after about the Brisbane game has been absolutely atrocious and he deserves to be dropped if there was a game next week.

He's lot his crisp disposal, and if he doesn't have that I'm not sure what he offers?

He also dramatically lost his form in late 2017.

If you want pur effort, Frosty !!!

Lever & Melsham are too busy pointing at everyone deflecting the deficiencies in their own game.

Agree Maxy is the "chosen"because he genuinely puts in. TMac would be my choice as VC . Lever's disposal is not worth the money he is getting and he has to learn to lead. There is more to it than finger pointing otherwise Jack Watts would have been capt ages ago. A capt is not neccessarily the highest paid recruit. May needs to get on the park and stay there before he can lead.

Melksham...No Way ...too selfish

Harmes : Committed but does he have the pedigree.

Trac : Averages > 20 disposals a game. Thinks, does good things . Has skills to show the way.

Brayshaw : If only he had a better year then 2018. Needs to reestablish himself. Last few games showed a lot of committment

Clarrie : Ball Magnet ....turnover king( or the bloke receiving is. Needs to look at Jobe Watson, Greg Williams on relation to moving the ball or Jobes cousin an the way he delivers the ball with his Left ft kicks. AN ideal Outside mid is Seb Ross

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Essendon

It’s Pink Lady night at Princes Park — a vibey Friday evening setting for a high-stakes clash between second-placed Melbourne and eleventh-placed Essendon. The wind-sheltered IKON Park, a favourite ground of the Demon players, promises flair, fire and a touch of pink. Melbourne has never lost a home-and-away game here, though the ghosts of two straight-sets finals exits in 2023 still linger.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: # 1 Steven May

The premiership defender has shown signs of wear and tear due to age, and his 2025 season was inconsistent, ending poorly with a suspension and a noticeable decline in performance. The Demons are eager to integrate younger players onto their list and have indicated that they may not be able to guarantee him senior games next season, in what would be the final year of his contract.

The young key tall failed to make progress during the season, with a decline in his goal kicking output. His secondary role as a backup ruckman, which may have hindered his ability to further develop his game, and he was also impacted by the team's poor forward connection. It will be interesting to observe his performance under a new coaching regime.
