I found that swilling Brandivino on a cold winter night as a 15 year old was quite warming.  Plus it was only about

$ 2.50 per bottle.

OMG ? I remember that Rocket Fuel

it was a bad choice!!!!

Of course McWilliams Cream Sherry or Port was the budget conscious alternative have no memory of price but dwelt distinctly  bottom shelf at all good purveyors of fine fortified wines and spirits.

A slug of Stone’s Green Ginger and a dart was my personal favourite

I've recently rediscovered Stone’s Green Ginger. Does a fine job at clearing the throat etc. In my hitching days got picked up in remote western Victoria and had to clear a space for my feet amongst the SGG empties carpeting the floor. Fortunately it turned out the driver had become immune to the 13.9%.

Brandavino, ah memories.Used to take bottle of stones to the footy nd tip it into that horrible white can carlton draught beer to kill the taste and to keep warm standing in bay 17,ah the good old days at the footy.Plus the jam donuts as a peace offering when home to wmbo,after a session at connelys tavern on way home.Still got a bottle of stones will have sip or two during todays win
